Vanishing Free Agent Offers?

I'm in an online league and we are currently in the offseason free agency. We recently switched over to 5.14b and had a scenario where teams and the commishes were running different versions and free agent signings and draft picks began disappearing from my team. We reverted back to an old file before the problem arose, got everybody on to 5.14b and moved on.

We just simmed days 7,8,9 and for the second straight sim, my free agent offers are disappearing. When I go to check my free agent offers, I have only one offer displayed to a player I made a bid on during day 1.

During the most recent sim, I received 4 e-mails from players telling me that my offer was their favorite. However, when I click "Show Your Offers," the only offering showing is the one I made on day 1 to a player who hasn't signed. None of the other offers I made show on that page.

When I click "Display Offers," the four players who told me that my offer was their favorite do not even list my offer under their name and list another team as their favorite offer.

Right now, it appears that at some point during the sim, OOTP is losing my free agent offers. Anyone seen this or have any suggestions?

The only time that I have seen an offer not appear is if the offer is too low for the player to consider. In those cases, the offer won't show up on these reports.

Well, in this case I'm certain that is not the situation for several reasons -- first, the e-mails indicating it was their favorite offer, secondly the fact that the offers were more than they were asking for and three the fact that the offers are simply disappearing -- they are not appearing at all on my list.

Anybody?

Did the file you are using "begin" before the FA period or during the FA period?

Ah-ha! Steve, I think you know something. No, we are not. After the third day of free agency, we had free agent signings and draft picks disappear from one team because not everyone was on the 5.14b patch.

The offers are on the commish file, but they are gone on our remote machines. Is this harmless and will correct itself after free agency?

Another question -- if we submit free agent offers from our machines with the missing offers, will this overwrite favorite free agent offers on the commish machine?

Thanks!

I'm having this exact problem, 5.14B. It also seems that the game has returned to Day 1 although earlier signings were honored. I'm thinking the second sentence might have been cause by having two copies of the game open at once (I don't remember having two copies open at once but that's the first thing that occured to me)

Any comments would be welcome.

More information: It's seems that the zipped copy of the file shows Day 4 correctly but it doesn't display any offers the team made. The offers my team made (which I made before releasing the first Free Agent file) show up and offers for other player (strangely) show up but nothing else. This is reflected in both the individual team pages and the "Display offers" report. It seems like the zipped copy of the file isn't reading the exports. Perhaps because Exports weren't included in the zip? I wouldn't think so but that is the only thing which occurs to me.

Also, at least two teams exports were invalid. Neither team exported for the first FA sim. I think, but am not 100% certain that at least one team which didn't export the first time did export the second time. I will check in a second, but wanted to get this post in.

The game did not read any teams export which didn't export for Day 1 (two teams.) This would make sense, since the game probably reimported Day One exports.

Yes, the commish really should delete old exports off the server in between every "step" of off-season activities. That will ensure that there are no abnormalities.

Hmm. Your right, but I don't think that would result in the day changing....since the game would be looking for day4 exports not day1.

It also doesn't explain the disappearance of the offers from the zipped copy of the file nor does it explain the day changing.

This is the exact same problem I'm currently having in MBBA.

On my file (Commish) I can see clearly on each club that they've made offers.

I zip the files, then the owners cant see their offers at all on their remote locations.

I really could use some help here.

Are you sure you are zipping up all of the league files? I had this happen one time when I missed a file or two during the zipping.

Yes. I've even gone so far as to provide the person having issues with a complete, full file. They still can't view their offers.

Strange, because another person who had this problem did that and it fixed the issue.

I'm bumping this instead of starting a new thread.

Our league is going through the same situations as explained above.

I really don't think our problem is some of our on 6.5, some are on 6.12. It suppose to be backwards compatable.

I noticed there wasn't a solution above.

Day 1 of FA offers went without a hitch. All offers made were displayed before the export of day 2.

After Day 2 was exported, several owners noticed that emails coming from new FA offers were coming in, but the displayed offers for the New FA's weren't coming through.

Is this happening to other leagues? Any ideas or suggestions?

I've started to write my offers down.

As a last resort, we could PM our offers to the commish, but we might be competing for the same FA's.

This is frustrating to our owners.

Thanks for any thoughts, ideas or suggestions.

6.12 to 6.5 FA ftps work in our league but it seems the owners with 6.12 cannot see their bids, which makes sense I guess.

Thanks for your reply.

So, basically, your offers are going through, you just can't see your bids.

Our league is having problems with the bids not showing with 6.12 and 6.5a. It's sounds like only people with 6.12 in your league.

I'm not a programmer or even remotely close, but is this fixable or will all owners need to upgrade to 6.5a or everyone stick with 6.12. To me, then, it's not backwards compatible.

I understand this happened in v5 as well as noted above.
