For my last league I drafted all 60 rounds for my team. The amature draft I turned it down to 5 for one of my solo leagues but I seem to have more fun with a 10 round draft. I have yet to get a superstar out of the last 5 rounds but I have gotten countless bench players, utility guys, middle reliever and the occasional 4 or 5th starter in the final rounds of the draft.

60 & 12.
I've had 11th and 12th rounders come out as some of the best players ever. Kinda reminds of Piaza (62nd round pick). |

I think a lot of people use those settings because that was what SD recommended for his 6.12 modifiers. The minors seem to be decently stocked, lots of free agents though.

40/10. I do the initial 40 and then delete the FA pool after the draft. Then I do the 10 rounds per year. This is to offset the problem with too many good players available when you create a league, keeping most of your minor league players trapped behind someone. I also like to get to know the players a bit and it is much easier knowing 40 than 60.....

I do 60 for the initial year fictional player draft, to fill out the ML roster and a good portion of the minor league teams (I don't use the "Fill up minor league teams with players" button). Then I do an 8 round Amateur draft every year.
I'm seeing a lot of crappy drafts, though...so I might up this to 10 or 12 pretty soon. The "real" MLB amateur draft is something crazy, like 50 rounds. |

i think i going to go with 40/10 per season
and delete the intial free agents after i draft.. so it wont be so easy to grab all the best free agents. cpu teams dont sign free agents on intial season until game 1. |

100 then 10....thats right 100...took a long time, but everyone had a chance to draft for each team in their organization.
