Question about player development
Hi, I an new to these boards, so I am sorry if this seems like a stupid question. I was wondering if there is a difference in player development, depending on whether the player is at any of the farm teams or if he is at the big show?
I have Scott Kazmir pitching for me and I notice that his ratings haven't adjusted much at all. Should I send him to the minors to try and improve him or what? Billy |

Development curve is different for every guy. You'll just have to be keen when looking out for them.
In my experience, some prospects develop faster in the minors while some needed Major League experience.

I've found out that players develop best when at the highest level of competition in which they can succeed/perform well. It becomes a dilemma, however, if you have a guy who is tearing up AAA but don't have a spot for him to get in work in the bigs. But management dilemmas like that are why we play this game.
![]() Don't forget that you can always work him into the bigs as a mop-up reliever; he doesn't have to be a starter just because he has high endurance. It's tough if you sim games sometimes, but if you do them manually it's easy to get him some innings. |

I use the minors report feature pretty frequently to see if my minor league guys are doing well on their current level, or need to be promoted or demoted. I can't really say bringing them up or moving them down helps their development, but I don't figure it could hurt much, especially if they're struggling or dominating at their current level.

Thanks for the help!
I read somewhere in a different post that 'you guys have a nice little community here' and 'this game wouldn't be the same without it', and I have to say that I totally agree. I look forward to playing and keep up the posts. Billy |

Hey, this is also weird...
The other night, I simulated most of a season with with MLB 2005 pack that was posted on here, and I noticed that there was no all-star game. Has anyone else had this issue? Billy |

No? I was looking for that 2005 schedule mod, but I couldn't really find it (I really didn't put all that much effort in,though, heh. : ) )

3-30-2005.. hm, how 'bout that.
I downloaded that MLB 2005 all-in-one pack, but I read that people were asking for an updated schedule. Was it just implemented into the link at a later date? Billy |

Change the date in the 'edit schedule' screen to July X and you should be good.

Thanks!
Wait, the date of the all-star game? It wants a XX/XX format, right? Last edited by D-Ray Billy; 06-16-2005 at 10:33 PM. |
