Does anyone have the source code? Perhaps we can just have the error fixed for now to continue using the old one.

There is no 'error.' The program could just be imrpoved, like all programs.

Isn't Jeff in a league or two still? Why not contact him directly?

(Note: just a suggestion!)

Is that really ethical? Money issues aside, it seems wrong to use someone's source code without their permission.

I don't think so. I'm sure if Cato wanted use to be able to contact him, we wouldn't have any problems.

Not that I'm a stalker or anything, but is this him?

No, that is obviously a different Cato. By the way, the authorities have been notified.

Well, that just shows I'm not a good stalker

Anyway, I think he is findable if people wanted to ask him directly for his source code stuff thingy. We just need a good stalker . . . volunteers?

maybe we can hope he comes out of hiding to upgrade it for 6.5 because he wants it to work for himself.

True to all of it. Having a friend who programmed some useful utility for FPS Baseball for my old league and then made it available publicly for free, I could imagine how he'd feel if someone decided to hijack his utility simply because he didn't feel like updating it anymore.

That said, if the rewrite could really incorporate free thinking, then I'm all for it.

If you don't profit from it, though, it's hard to take nothing.

Asking for money, though, opens a new can of worms....

I googled 'Comedian2004 posting to the OOTP forum' and I found this message I was posting. It was strange, like that scene in Spaceballs when they were using the warp.

Jeff was in the JOBL with me and vanished at the same time he vanished from these forums, which IIRC was around August last year. I don't know if he just quit communicating in general, or if he told the commish he was leaving, but my impression was that it was the former.

I can't imagine he would mind someone fixing it to work with 6.5. After all, he did use open source code to create it in the first place.

If it were me, I would not mind.

No, depending on the account type Paypal charges something like 35 cents plus 2.5% of the sale.
