80's nicknames
Okay, I'm looking for some of the lesser know nicknames from the 80s. For example, in Texas, the called Jerry Browne "The Governor" and Minnesota had names like "G-Man" for Gary Gaetti and "Gags" for Greg Gagne.
What are some of the ones you guys remember from the 80s? I'll be using these to update the '85 league file I'm working on, adding something extra to the PBP. |

George "Mullet" Brett Ryne "Gabby" Sandberg (in 83, then changing to Ryno in 84) Eric "E" Anthony John "T-Bone" Shelby are ones that come to mind. If I find some time this weekend, I'll see what I can find. PM me if you are looking for specific players.

All the others sound right except Garvey. I was a fan of his while he was a Dodger but don't remember them ever using a nickname with him, though they many times mentioned he might run for office some day. Was that while he was with the Padres?
