Question Slow saving times....

Hiya! I have been happily playing OOTP3 for the last few months without a single issue. I have noticed recently that everytime the game saves, it takes about 45 seconds which seems excessive.

I am running OOTP on an IBM Thinkpad T21 PIII 800Mhz with 512MB memory. I disable the virus software because I know that decreases performance. Any other ideas?

Make sure that "game logs" are off in the schedule sim options. You can also turn off sim minors and save box scores, but most want these options but they can slow save speed.

Well I guess that I have two questions for that. How many years have you played with the league that you are using and what rosters did you start out with for the league. If you are using my roster file and have completed a couple of seasons then you will definitely start to see longer save times as the file becomes bigger and bigger. My roster file is over 3000 players in size when it starts out and then with the addition of amateur drafts it will gain more players even though some will retire. So the bigger the file the longer the time. I hope that helps.

Thank you very much for the quick responses! I did take your advice and turned off the game logs as I do not review those very often. I am in the first year of a new career but I also filled up the minor leagues with fictional players. That alone may be the reason for the increased save times.

Thanks!!!!

I also suffer from slow saving times.
I have turned off the game log option, I want to keep the sim minors option but can someone tell me how I stop the game saving box scores?

Many Thanks.
