Best Names in TWB History - Bracket #1

You don't have to be a Time Warp follower to participate. I'm going thru the league's history & pulling out some of the best names I can find. I'll rank them using a completely unscientific method that will remain a secret.

Anyway, please vote for 1 name in each pairing. After all brackets are done, we'll pit winners of each pairing against each other until we get down the the BEST NAME IN TWB HISTORY!!

I have TONS so this could go on for a while. I don't have the grand total just yet.

Matt, how could you rank McHendrie a 7 and Sutton a 2, and then vote for the 7 seed? Don't you make the seeds? Haha.

Oddly enough no. Upon retiring, his speed was 7 but his steal rating was just 3. He retired w/ a .304 average, 2488 hits and 183 SB's (about 12 per yr, career high 20 in 1910 w/ 18 CS)... career 183 SB's but 178 CS

Perhaps he was fast but the nickname was because he kept getting caught stealing.

Was 1908 BOY: .345, 6 HR, 71 RBI

How could "Jonny Cakes" Sutton be beating Royal McHendrie? Before you vote, try saying Royal McHendrie to yourself a few times. If you don't at least chuckle, there is something wrong with you.

I finally finished putting all the names together. How's 256 names?

That means 32 brackets of 8 names each. This might go on for a while But there's no rush.

It was hard weeding some names out. I started with 346 and had to remove 90 so the brackets would work out perfectly.

Eventually I'll list everyone who didn't make the 1st cut.

Yes. A few pop into my head (I don't want to give them up yet) but w/ that many names, I'm sure every team will be well represented.
