When web surfers stumble upon OOTP league websites

Here's what happens when someone who doesn't understand the difference between real baseball and online leagues stumbles onto an OOTP league website .... http://www.snowballhidalgo.com/?p=11

Please bow your heads in respect of Fred's superior intellectual horsepower

That is classic. I'm just picturing the conversation this guy has with his wife on Sunday morning:

Wife: What are your plans for Sunday, hon?
Guy: Can you believe this?!? This guy totally screwed up Ken Aspromonte's career baseball stats! I can't do anything until I set this guy straight!
Wife: You need to get a life...
Guy: NO! This guy needs to get his facts straight! He should be ashamed!!
Wife: I think I'm ashamed...

It'd be even funnier if we flooded his inbox with emails saying we agreed with him!!

A guy like that more than likely has no wife.
Or has had any female contact in 20 years

Invite him to join your league. That's what I would do, then he can be there first hand to see many players stats going wrong. You should be ashamed you didn't invite Fred to be in your league.

Having your "real" email address on a public forum like this is not a good thing for old Fred. I have a feeling his email box is going to be filling up with all kinds of "goodies" in the very near future. The OOTP community is very giving and I think Fred is going to find out first hand just how generous they can be!

A quick scan through this online leagues forum and I think I can find lots of "statistical inaccuracies" for Fred to attack. I've got to let him know...

If I wasn't so stupid, I'd be ashamed that I didn't let him know earlier.

Praise Fred!

Just find a bunch of historical players around the same era from your league and send them to his e-mail (one at a time, of course) and ask him to verify the statistical accuracy of each player.

I like that idea!!!! Perhaps Fred could oversee ALL online leagues and correct ALL statistical inaccuracies! I wonder how Fred would approach a fictional league???

Fictional leagues would confuse him, because he'd never know if the first name was accurate and the last name was wrong, or vice versa...

But if we've got this guy's mindset right, he'd give you both players anyways and still insist that we should be ashamed of ourselves... you know, for inaccurately playing an online fantasy baseball game

I sent this to Fred:

I also noticed Ken's stats were incorrect! He should be so ashamed! We need to do something about this. He does not need to have an online baseball league and change history. He should work for George Bush! I'm also liberal and I fully believe in communisim! Everyone should share everything! I'll start with your wife...Done!

He replied with:
When can you pick her up? But there you go again, being sloppy with your stats - she's been on the DL for years - you could look it up!

I was in an online league using fictional players a couple of years ago when I, and everyone in the league, received an e-mail from a lady representing a bat company, a real-life actual bat company, sending us rates for ordering bats for our teams.
