![]() Having such an unorthodox style how was Hamed able to be so sucessful(aside from against Barrera)? What were his most powerful attributes...what was about his technique that made him so dominate? Forgive me if this is a dumb question to make a thread about, I was just curious. |

He was quick and strong. He hit you from all sorts of angles which befuddled most of his opponents. Just part of the story, you had to watch his fights to really see what he did. I really liked watching him fight.

He was a very entertaining fighter, who seemed to always be off-balance. Sot he'd go down alot but was never really hurt when he did (Kevin Kelly fight). He always backed up his antics though with brutally strong punches. I miss him alot, but the Barrera loss took the fight out of him.
I believe part of his mystic was is that he thought he was invincible, when Barrera beat him it took it away from him. I believe if he kept going he would've become a post Rosario version of Camacho. Camacho had that cockiness and air of invincibility before Rosario knocked the **** out of him. |

The Prince had a great punch that came from no where due to his unorthodox style which made him effective

The biggest assets the Prince had were speed and power (two very nice one's to have) -
However, he also didn't beat that many good fighters - He beat both Botile and W. Vasquez when both were past their better days (especially W. Vasquez!) He definitely hit hard and also had somewhat of a decent defense because of his unorthodox style (gave strange angles and guys had trouble getting good shots off at him) - Though Barrera did exactly what one should and that is cut off the ring on him and make him trade - If you cut off the ring on him (and you could take his shots or slip them) the Prince was in for a long night. He was fun to watch but not an all time great by any means. |

I think it was also hard for him to keep doing his fundamentalist muslim thing after 9/11, he only fought once. That was a major part of his routine, the allah akbars before his fights, you just wouldnt see that nowadays. Just my 2.

A lot of guys @ 126 have some scrawny little legs but not him! He's only about 5-3 but his legs looked solid - when he'd plant his feet, he'd hit you with some power!
