Pro Circuit Has Its First .400 Hitter!!
![]() 29 year-old Clarence Corbin, a shortstop in Leavenworth of the Kansas League in 1899 had no idea of the 1900 season he'd have when he declared his intentions to enter the 1900 Pro Circuit amateur draft!! Clarence was taken early in the first round by the Kansas City Clarions, allowing Corbin to stay close to his Kansas roots. Clarence responded with a .402 season in which he led the Clarions to respectability and put a fear in the Birmingham Black Stockings in the Western Alliance before bowing to the defending champs by 1 game. Clarence earned the 'Finest Newcomer' AND 'Jess Cross' (best overall hitter) Awards for his fine performance!! We're entering our 7th season in the Pro Circuit (1901) and have loads of fun with our 14 team fictorical league set in the days when baseball was still a game that meant something to its players. We play a 126 game season, use deadball numbers, and our own name generator to create our historical players! Oh yeah..........we have our own facepack created from old, obscure baseball cards too! Come by and check us out sometime...........and congratulations to Clarence Corbin on a fine 'rookie' season, at age 29!! |

Chappy,
I try to create cards for each player with at least a 2.5 star rating. Presently, there are about 350 players with images in our league. You can see them on our HTML player pages as well. Last edited by Cooleyvol; 05-22-2005 at 09:09 PM. |

Bruce, if you get a chance, look over our rookie class--there's something familiar there that the owners havent found as of yet! Last edited by Cooleyvol; 05-23-2005 at 09:47 AM. |

Would you be speaking of a certain fella with the nickname "Moonlight"?
BTW - 3 more weeks and then I'm home for good, drafted ashore so no more going away. My name will be going on the waiting list as soon as I'm back. Floating off the coast of sunny Virginia this morning, about 100 miles out.

We'd be proud to have you back and on top of the waiting list!! It seems the owners that HAVE left us (not many) have ended up coming back very soon! |

Do you mean Stamey? He's kept the Eastern Federation pretty much under his thumb. |

If my entire pitching staff hadn't decided to suck en masse last season, the Indies would've had a good shot at a repeat. I think they were all hitting the bottle. Either that or those finks in Buffalo had something to do with it...
