Player Extensions
When you goto the players page. Usually minor leaguers they are, it says they are Free Agents Next season.
I have resigned a couple players, but they still say Free Agents Next season, but at the bottom of the page, it says Extensions Signed. Why does this still say Free Agent Next Season? Should I turn the Minor League Free Agents Off or keep them on? This seems to effect a lot of young prospects on teams. http://iba.sim-leagues.com/ootp/team16sa.html |

when you offer extensions to minor leaguers its usually a MLC and I am not sure that shows up on the list. A simple way to keep players like prospects from becoming FAs is to put them on your 40man roster.

I do have a couple of them on my list, like Matt Bush, but it still shows his a Free Agent, but he signed a MLC.

Players reaching the point of eligibility for minor league free agency (finishing their 6th season, which like in Bush's case is shown by during the season having 5 years of pro service listed) will still be minor league free agents even if they sign a minor league extension. Such players must be on the 40-man roster or otherwise pushed into a major league contract to not be lost in the offseason.
At 20yo, it seems unlikely Bush would really be in his 6th pro season. I forget what the issue is there - something about game-created or editted players or something at the beginning of leagues. Maybe there is an editor for this issue? I don't know. There has been discussion about this in the past, but searching for it may not be easy. |

that may be how it works in the real world gmo, but I am not sure its the case in OOTP, unless it was changed in the patch. I know I have offered MLC extensions to players who had 6+ years in minor leagues in the past and had them carry over to next season. Ill have to look at this agian after I finish the current season im in.

Yes, they all became Free Agents.... Is their a way to put those players back onto their team before Free Agent Period starts?
Like a Utility or some kind of Add-on program that can work for that? Not sure if Pierre's Utilities work for this kind of info. |

Sounds like you may want to turn Minor League FA off for your league since that's not what you want to be happening.
