The Western Hemisphere Baseball League Needs One (Fantasy/Talent Only)

We're looking for a few folks to come take over the reigns of some recently departed GMs in the WHBL. Main page: http://whbl.net/index.php

We're a fantasy player league with three seasons under our belt and a great core group of owners, most of which have been with us for quite some time. We use Talent Ratings only, BOSI, Catobase, phpNuke, and some other fun stuff to make things as deep and interactive as possible.

We sim on a M-W-Sat schedule, using a 7-8-7-8-7-8 game rotation.

We have a very lively forum and some fantastic storytellers that post great stories on the front page fairly often.

We're in the playoffs right now, but we're recruiting early for the offseason so new GMs can adjust and get ready to guide their team through the FA-signing period and Ammy Draft with gusto!

The backstory of the league is below, and makes for an interesting jumpstart for anyone looking to get in:

http://www.whbl.net/history.html

The rules are below. They need to be updated to reflect some recent changes, but all the basic stuff is still accurate.

http://www.whbl.net/rules.html

Currently available teams include:

Mexico City

HTML Team Page - http://www.whbl.net/leaguesite/team8.html
BOSI Team Page - http://www.whbl.net/BOSI/team.php?G_tid=8

If you're interested in any of the above teams, just post to this thread, or shoot me a PM. You can also sign up over at the forum and post your intent to join over there.

Thanks for looking!

Caracas has been claimed!

Mexico City and Santo Domingo are still out there. Snag 'em while they're hot!

Talking

Caracas has been claimed.

Mexico City and Santo Domingo remain available, with a couple other teams possibly opening up before the end of the year.

Some features that give the league that little something extra:

Deep ratings and stats spreadsheet utility (I'm still trying to figure out half the stuff on there)
Gallery of player photos and cards (With additions for awards winners, All-Stars, and Batters/Pitchers of the Month)

We'll also have a new league history site with customizable pages for each team up and running soon ...

Playoffs and awards voting are set to get underway and the ammy draft is expanding over the next couple of years ... come by and visit and get to know our league!

Edit: Yeah, what the commish said.

Yeah, statheads should know that between a couple of guys in the league, you're looking at some SERIOUS extra-game stats availability.

These guys are freakin' geniuses.

If you're a statgeek, you MUST come give us a looksie.

More acronyms than I know what to do with.

Yep

If you like a league with some creativity and an open minded commish who is open to just about any idea, then you have found the right league....

Very well run, very active as you will notice from the forums and just downright fun

Aw, shucks. Thanks guys.

Seriously though, for anyone in doubt, just go look at our message board for a glut of stats, discussions, etc., etc. about the league. You can be totally laid back, or completely engrossed. Whichever you choose.

Caracas has been snapped up, but Nashville is now available.

I've now attached the team logos as well. One of the league perks is being able to design or commission the design on a new logo if you don't like the old one.

How is this league not full?!

What is everyone waiting for? This is absolutely one of the top 10 fictional leagues out there. It's a very active and challenging league. We also have Cato and BOSI.

Hurry up before it's too late. Offseason is about ready to begin so you have time to get your team ready for the new season.

It must be the two headed monster that is Indiananpolis. Props to J-ville who was able to unseat us in the North American East Division. I was also glad to see that the Ospreys upheld the NA East tradition of first round playoff exits.

How can I not but follow in the footsteps of the trailblazing Clowns?

This one hurt ... would've liked to at least gone to the Continental Series ... there is always next year ...

Santo Domingo has pretty good depth in prospects and some excellent talent in the majors (mostly pitching), so there's an opportunity here for a creative GM to make good things happen via trades or a couple wise FA signings with the decent amount of salary space available ...

As DH mentioned, Santo Domingo has been claimed!

Two left. Grab 'em before the offseason so you can take the reigns properly.

Okay...

Nashville is now taken, but two other teams have opened up. Vancouver and former Champions, Port-au-Prince.

Calling all potential GMs...
