Post spring training advice.

I'm at the spring training mode. If you click the "ask coach", does that work best? If I put a zero in one colum, will the player decrease in that colum or will he just stay the same?

Leaving each area of practice at "5" (except defense for a designated hitter or a fielder with "E" range) should get you the most positive results with no negatives. If you reduce any area of practice below "5" you increase the risk of ratings actually going down for that attribute. One area where there is less subtlety is defensive practice, where if you take 1 point off, you may as well take all 5 points off - you can't drop more than 1 fielding grade in defense. If your player is already at an "E" range you may as well take all the points off of fielding practice, he can't get any worse.

Something new for v4 is switching primary fielding positions. In v3 reducing the ST fielding practice to zero only impacted the primary fielding position, if that is still the case for v4 then that would be a ST defensive practice loophole.

to comment on what Killebrew said about dropping lower than an E in fielding. You CAN in fact get worse. In a simulated season I ran I decided to have Fred McGriff concentrate on hitting and power (since he had slowed down to age) i did that at the expense of fielding, figuring you cant get lower than an E. I was wrong. His fielding dropped to a * and he committed nearly 50 errors in the season at first base.

Still, that is great to hear as it's new for v4. In this case replace the "E" in my comment with "*", hopefully you can't go lower than "*" fielding range.
