Has anyone ever noticed a problem like this...

I'm using a modified version of Halofan's roster set for my solo league and for some strange reason the A's keep playing Erubiel Durazo in RF. At first I thought it was just a problem with the original roster set but after I deleted the original Durazo and re-imported him, the game still wants to make him a RF despite him not having any outfield ratings and despite the fact that Oakland has plenty of outfielders. It's really strange, has anyone else ever seen something like this and if so, do you know how to fix it?

Yes. The AI sucks, simply put.

Only a little less than a year until OOTP 7 (hopefully)

Does your team have a better optionfor RF? If not maybe the AI figures having Durazo play out there will be better for your team than having an RF that can't hit.

I'm not controlling the A's (that's the main problem, I don't want to spend time dealing with another teams lineup when I'm trying to run my own team but Durazo's atrocious defense is dramatically affecting the season) but they should have better options. In fact, they have what should be their RF platoon of Kielty and Swisher platooning at DH instead while Durazo (who should be DH) plays RF. It's like the AI is just switching the RF and DH positions or something like that, I've figured out ways to deal with most of the AI quirks but this is the first time I've ever seen that.

Is Durazo listed as a 1b or DH?

He's a DH. I just did a test and listing him as a 1B seems to make everything work as far as the lineup goes (Hatteberg goes to DH and Kielty/Swisher platoon in RF) but the defense will still suffer some. I guess defense at 1B doesn't matter much but what's going on is still crazy.

-On second thought, listing Durazo doesn't seem to work either since the AI now sends Hatteberg to the minors unless I change his position. Very strange...
