A little draft help please

I was trying to change from a pre season draft in the WWBL to a June 1st draft.
First I tried to make this change just before I hit the "Proceed to next season" button. This put all the ammys in my free agent pool.
So I then tried it after I hit the "Proceed to next season" button and it again put the ammys in my FA pool.
So my question is what am I doing wrong?

I believe you have to change it mid-season because if you do it before proceeding to next season, OOTP is already set to run the offseason order as per the settings for the year you are just finishing. Therefore it's set to generate(or import) rookies as part of "proceeding to next year". If your draft isn't until June, it has no place to put the rookies except for in the FA bin.

If you set it after proceeding to next season, it has to dump the rookies that were just generated(or imported) somewhere because you've, in a sense, cancelled the "offseason" draft. And that somewhere is the FA bin.

So proceed to next season, draft and then change your draft to June. The setting should hold as you go into the next season. So you will:

Finish this season
Proceed to next season
Draft amateurs
Change the settings
finish next season
Proceed to next season
no amateur draft
season starts
Draft in June

However, you may get lucky and have 2 drafts in the same season.

I have a question along the same lines. I sorta did the opposite. I changed the Draft to June, and when it got to June it said it was time for the draft. However, I couldn't tell how to import the lahman database for a june draft. Is there someway to do that?

Anyways, I just clicked the draft settings back to offseason and proceeded with my league. Will I get my draft at the end of this season since I didn't do one in June?

The game does not allow for a June draft if you are wanting to import the draftees from the lahman database. You have to use the pre-season draft.
