Error Message

System Info:

Windows 2000, running OOTP 6.12

Alright so I have a very specific problem. It seems to only happened after I sim a long period of time (20 years or so.) After I click the manager setup an error message pops up (see screenshot.) That same error message appears if I right click on a player from the roster screen (to try and offer a contract extension.) If I right click on a player from the pitchin staff or lineup screen nothing happens and the player page doesn't load like its supposed to. All my other leagues act fine...the only leagues that act up are the ones that I just simmed for a while.

Thanks for any help.

EDIT: btw i never had any of these issues before 6.12

I have not played OOTP6 since last baseball season, so I downloaded the latest version of the game and I am experiencing the same type of problem....when I sim the games, there are no issues, however, when I play a game, that is when trouble ensues...the error message occurs after the game when the box score is supposed to be generated...it is at that moment, while there is a pause to create the box score, that the error and crash occurs...when the game is restarted, the final score is shown on the schedule scoreboard but the stats and standings have not been saved....I then need to find a common day off for both teams and edit the game in so I can have it replayed....

I have Windows XP Home with service pack 2 installed (I wish I never auto updated that piece of garbage!)------------------

Is your sound turned off in the game? That seems to be the biggest culprit for crashes. Not sure if that is the case though for either of you, I've never had any crash issues that wernt related to the lineup bug or corrupt game files. When I have had the corrupt files after a crash usually, reinstalling the game with a restore from fixed the problem.

Well that did the trick....I turned off all the sounds and now I can play through a game and not have an error message and crash....thanks for the fix, so now the next question concerns whether there is a work around to enable the sounds without the crash occurring?....I can live without it if need be but perhaps there is a fix......thanks again....

Henry is working on a fix. But he is busy writing an article for Rolling Stone right now.
