Weird. I am presently simming a season with the schedule legs37 posted. Not sure if this is a factor but the first time I tried to import his schedule no games showed up. Turns out the text file did not have commas seperating the day number, visitor, home team, and start time. I corrected it and saved as a csv file and it imported fine. I will let you know if the simmed worked shortly.

The posted file does oddly have tabs as separators rather than commas, something that can be done manually if the file is opened in something and resaved. I doubt Markus has touched the schedule import/export since putting it in with 6.00, so I find it hard to believe something has just snuck in related to that.
At one point I thought that a schedule with extra information could work just fine. For instance if you wanted a 16-team, 1-league schedule with the exact format of a 32-team, 2-league schedule with no interleague, I figured you could just import that 32-team schedule and it would work just fine. However, I soon realized that with the All-Star teams having the two team numbers immediately after the last in a league, that would not work. In my example, cases of teams 17 & 18 playing each other in the second league would be read as All-Star Games by OOTP. Does the schedule report show the exact total of games expect (# per team times how many teams divided by 2) and not one or any more than that indicating an All-Star Game is somewhere in there. Otherwise I cannot think of a way the csv file can be causing a problem. |

It might be me doing something odd, but every time, it's like it's looking for an all-star game that isn't there. My presumption was that is because the importer assumes one exists even if it doesn't. I don't think it's the file, I think it's that when a schedule is imported the game assumes the all-star break is on, and because there is no toggle in a one league set up, you cannot tell it that it is off. Then again, it looks like its only me having this problem, so who knows? |

EDIT: I did some of this creating a 1-league 5/5/4 configuration. I imported a schedule for the first season and imported the original schedule the game generated (which I had exported before beginning experimenting) for the second season. I got to the end of the second season at the point where the "Proceed..." button pops up with no problem. I used CommishJoe's exporter many times, before & during those seasons, before doing any simulating after tinkering with various things like generating new schedules and flipping off some options. Never did I see anything indicating an All-Star Game would appear. I did notice that when generating a schedule within the game you get the option of an All-Star Break with one league where some offdays get put in around mid-season, but there is never a sign of an AS game. Does the game actually pop up the little note saying that it is preparing the All-Star Game then freeze up? I am at a loss to explain why these problems may be happening. In doug's case the league sounds like it is not in season 1, while that of legs sounds new, which further adds confusion. Is there anything else either of you can think to add - manually editting the schedule in the game or by csv, other crashes involving the league, anything? sorry to take so long with results. Ran out of time before I had to go to my hockey game.
Had no trouble simming a season at all. No freeze up at the allstar break or the end of the season. I just hit proceed to next year and all worked well. So, I have no idea why your league is crashing.

The plot unthickens....
I tried it again with a series of fresh leagues, and the only way I could get to recreate the problem is by importing a schedule made for a 2-team league and deleting all the other games, then playing a bit of it. That's fairly obvious what the problem is there. The problem with my original league seems a little more complex. It looks like something I've done, and it must be between one season and the next. I'm thinking I must have imported the wrong schedule at one point, then imported the right one. It's further complicated by the fact that I managed to get past the all-star game by simply clearing my schedule and generating a new one, which then totally fragged the file date (switching it to 1/1/02) when I tried to continue to the next season, so the schedule has disappeared into the ether. What's still confusing me is that for this one league, the schedule worked fine for one season, then crashed the second. I'm really not sure why - maybe the problem is a corrupted file, rather than a corrupted schedule. Thanks very much guys, for all your help. |

My latest attempt was to uninstall/reinstall the game. Any guesses? CRASH!I am getting quite discouraged at this point. Thank you guys for all your suggestions and ideas thus far. If you can, please continue. Maybe someday soon I can start my League for real... Ciao,

Gents:
I can't bypass the All-Star Game regardless of numerous attempts using different solutions. I'm using a 1 League, 14 Team, 3 Division setup. All Human owned. Division 1 - 5 teams Division 2 - 5 teams Division 3 - 4 teams Is anyone willing to load my League to try their hand at getting it up and running? I appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!
