I did one of these over the summer, thought I'd move on to a different team.

If I miss someone tell me. I'll leave a spot open on the poll for 'write in' votes.

I just went by who led their team in OPS and ERA the most seasons. Sabo never did. Daniels did once. But so did Gary Redus.

You did vote 'other' so which one were you talking about?

Ernie Lombardi could also be on the list. Slow as molasses, but could hit with the best of them.

How do you know it was me?

And I have no opinion on who's the best Red of all time. It could be Johnny Kerr. I just wanted to throw out names.

I voted for Pete Rose. Can't stand the guy, shouldn't be in the Hall, was probably high on speed his entire career, but still... 4,256 hits, many of them as a Red. Maybe I should have voted Joe Morgan. Argh.

Oh, it didn't look like you did. In any case, it wasn't me that voted for other, I don't care what lies the board tries to tell you.

Frank Robinson, with Bench/Morgan a close second.

I like Pete Rose, and think he should be in the HOF (but not necessarily reinstated), however, he's one of the most overrated players in the history of the game (note: that doesn't mean I don't think he wasn't great, just not as great as most people think).

Should we vote exclusively for Reds data, or also what they did as opponents of the Reds?

I'll bet that it was Pete Rose.

Went with Mr. Bench, the best catcher of all time. (Says me).

As for Pete Rose, he was a player with decent skills who willed himself into a great player. But he hung on for a few too many seasons in order to break Ty Cobb's record. But his achievements speak for themselves and will always have a special connection with the Queen City.

I went with just what they did as a Red, which is why I went with Morgan rather than Robinson. I wouldn't argue with Bench. Rose, though, is a step below Morgan and Bench (especially when just looking at his Reds career) without even getting into the gambling. He was a fun player to watch and had a HOF-quality career, but Bench and Morgan rank above him (as does Robinson, if we include entire careers).

Went with Morgan, though I think Dunn may have a chance if his career continues at it's current path.

I gotta go with Johnny Bench on this one, with Rose and Robinson getting close seconds. Robinson and Bench may be better players, but Bench dominated his position like no one else, and in my mind, is the best catcher thus far in the history of baseball.

Eric Davis...no questions asked. He singlehandedly won a World Series for the Reds with a damaged spleen!

This is a tossup between Bench and Morgan... Because Bench played his whole career with the Reds I went with him. Morgan had a decent amount of his career value come with the Astros/Colt 45's.

Why Pete Rose has so many votes is beyond me with those two guys as an option. He's that overrated huh?

If it's time spent in a Red uni, then it's Johnny Bench without question. Frank Robinson spent a big chunk of his career as an O, and Morgan had a significant portion of his as a 'Stro.

I'm thinking and hoping this is a tongue-in-cheek, joke comment. Davis was a great player, no arguments there, but...singlehandedly?

Hatcher .750 2 RBI
Sabo .562 2HR 5 RBI
Larkin .353 1 RBI
Davis .286 1 HR 5 RBI

Rijo 2-0 0.59 ERA 14 K's in 15 IP
Nasty Boys 1-0, 1 save, 0.00 ERA, 7K's in 8 IP

Selective memory is a bad thing...
