I see at least one owner was added since I've e-mailed about teams much earlier today. Should I take that as being rejected as a potential owner?
Make that three ... (Boston, Oakland and Arizona). Since I didn't get an e-mail and there's been plenty of time to respond to me like you did them, I'll assume that I don't cut the mustard for you. No biggie. There are plenty of leagues available. Good luck with the league. Site looks great. Last edited by D's Nuts; 04-12-2005 at 11:40 PM. |

7 Openings left. Teams include several decent teams. Twinkies, Dodgers, Giants, Orioles, Padres among a few others. Check the GM list if interested for the other remaining teams.

I had e-mailed about the Dodgers about 24 hours ago so again, I'm assuming I'm not good enough for the league. I completely understand being careful with who they accept as it obviously is what makes or breaks the league. But being able to speak, spell and type in complete sentences as well as show I'm an active participant in my other leagues should have been sufficient I would think. Again, no sweat. I would do the same thing (be particular) as far as filling the league. I don't take it personal by not being invited. I think I would have enjoyed the league and you wouldn't have been disappointed but such is life. I'll get over it.
Those who are invited should have a great time. I would guess it will be a very successful league. |

Look, people just because you sent in an email doesnt mean you will get a team. no one said you didnt "make the cut" or your "not good enough". Just sit tight, if your picked, i will let you know. Dont come here and just post "well i emailed you the other day...guess i'm not good enough" type messages. okay?
SkyWalker....Sims are Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 10 ET 10 days each.. |

I have to say a couple post here in my mind would warrant a no vote in taking them into the league.
First off I will say I have the Tigers in the league and was one of the first guys to join and know many of the GM's there. They are a fine group and when I heard Steve and Alex were starting up a league I jumped at the chance to join them. Also with the addition of Karen handling the web pages this league has the makings of probably one of the finest leagues in the OOTP league history. Secondly there are alot of pluses to this leagues such as the ability to have a player made up with a wide selection of talent levels to pick from and hopefully develop them to their potential. These are players that will have your name and never leave your team and should be studs. That plus the ability to cut one players salary in half and the ability to plead the case of up to five players as to why a current players ratings should be adjusted with a viable explanation there is a ton of things going on there. I am actually shocked as everyone has respected this rule and presented very real life reasons and not trying to take advantage of the idea and ask for improvements just to get them. It only goes to show that the group is a fine group of very knowledgeable baseball minds. Just go to the forum and check the re ratings post in the disscussion topic to see what I mean. Third with all that going on and knowing from my friend the co-commish Alex that they were not really planning to take on GM's as soon as they did before they finalized everything we are still probably a couple weeks away from starting up even if the league is full. It goes to show you that they were respected as the guys they have now came flooding in and practically begged to be a part of the league. Believe me those guys are willing to accept the delay and are quite pleased as some suggestions already made have been accepted and honored as viable ideas for the longevity of the league. Fourth from first hand experience in running a small company if you were to apply and then call later that day or even the next day complaining about recieving any notice I could promise you unless your app was truely exceptional you would definitely be headed to the trash. Patience is a virtue. Practice it and you may find things are a lot better in life. Fifth and I hate doing this but D Nuts you look like you like to stir up things. Personally if it were my league you would have already gotten a notice to move on as you already are stirring up things in this post and making the EFBL look amatuer. I have seen your type with your petty complaints send many leagues into turmoil and hopefully we dont have to worry about ones like that there. Believe me when I say Alex and Steve are man enough to immediately take action against such as they are aware just a couple idiots can ruin a fine league or a least send it into turmoil and make it difficult for them to run it. Sorry Steve if you feel I am over stepping my bounds here but I have the utmost respect for you and what you are applying your personal time to accomplish. I also hope the better more mature acting GM's see this and dont think a couple of guys postings here label your league as one that is doomed to turmoil and failure. So to those GM's looking for a first class act jump on board and I know Steve will get back to you as soon as he can. |

The only smear I made was towards Klew (Kevin Lewis) who about a month ago started a league through this very OOTP site, got 29 other owners together, let them spend hours and hours building their teams only to QUIT on us all (yes, I was in the league obviously) after one and only one simulation. But that does nothing as far as the EFBL. I was attempting to warn them of a potential problem in their league and for that you attack me? You know NOTHING about me other than a couple of small posts. I'm definitely not a problem in ANY of my leagues. I'm a good and active owner. If I don't get asked to join the EFBL, that's fine. I mentioned that quite a few times and wished them (you as part of it) good luck. I really don't see the need for you pointing me out in this thread as being an "idiot" (your words). You couldn't be farther from the truth. As many kids as there are misspelling every other word and using ebonics to type and you find my easy-to-read posts as something to find fault with. Hmmm ... okay. As I said, I'm okay not being a part of your league. Now I'd prefer not to anyway. |

Let's all just move on, alright? It wouldn't do any good if we continue debating/arguing about the openings.
If you send in an application and didn't make the cut, move on with your life. If you did make the cut, then good for you.

Hello!
I applied the other day, and I was just wondering if I don't recieve a team in this league, is there any possibility of still being involved in some capacity? Such as being an assistant GM or something like that? Thanks for your time guys, this league looks awesome! Matt (the one who applied for the Jays!) |
