Chattanooga Locomotives Logo Request
Hello.
I thought I would put in a request for one of you exceptional gentlemen to design a logo for the Chattanooga Locomotives from my Spring Glory League that's posted in the dynasty forum. I'll include the post below that introduces them to give you all an idea as to the date of the story and the nature of the man owning the team. February 24, 1900 - Henry Shire It's damned hot for this time of year. A week and four days after St. Valentine's, you would think it'd be cooler after everyone got the heat out of their bodies by lovemaking on that day. But maybe the heat hasn't gone away. Maybe it just dispersed in the air and made the weather unseasonably warm. Must be in the high 60s by now. I can't really say. To me, that's damn warm. No wonder I spend my summers up in Canada. I lean against the back of the bench I sit on just now, wiping my brow with a handkerchief given to me by my mother when I was just a small boy. Funny thing how I still keep that old rag, even though I can afford to buy much more expensive and high quality ones now that I'm as rich as I am. Maybe I keep it to remind of who I was as I was growing up. We were pretty poor as families go, but I worked hard in school and was very careful with me. Trains and railroads have always been a love of mine, an obsession even. I'd read about them day and night and after I graduated from Harvard, I went right into that sector of the transportation industry. I came back home to Chattanooga and got the Dupres up in Knoxville to finance me for a railroads and trains network I had for the state of Tennessee, better developed than what we had at the time. Now, thirty three years later, I'm one of the wealthiest men in Tennessee and the Shire Trains and Rails Company has expanded north into Kentucky and Illinois, east into North Carolina, west into Missouri, and south into Missippi. It's a gradual process, but I imagine by the end of it all, we'll cover the entire map of the United States and maybe even break our way into Canada, even if we have to buy up one of the smaller companies up there. Ah well, enough of that daydreaming. I'm here at the station to inhale the smells and sound of people bustling to and fro as they get on and off the train just in front of me. There's nothing like the scents of people who have either just finished traveling or about to travel. It's more than the sweats of relief or anticipation, it's something of the very locomotive themselves that they carry with them as part of their colognes and perfumes. I'm also here to try and get inspiration for what I should name the baseball team I've just bought on the advice of the Dupres. The club will be stationed here in Chattanooga, naturally. Wait a minute. That's it! It's so obvious that I feel silly for not thinking of it before. Yes, they will be called the Chattanooga Locomotives. It's only fitting for a team owned by me, don't you think? **** Thank you all in advance for your help. |

Great logos, Tequilaworm.
The second one is just perfect. The fellow even looks exactly like I have Henry pictured. |
