Commish Joe,

I can't seem to get BOSI to work due to a date error. I also tried to delete the tablew with delete_tables.php and get the following error:

Error -- delete from BAT_GAME where LEAGUE_ID =

Can you help me out. I want to delete my old database, and start from scratch, but I don't know how to.

Do you have phpMyAdmin? Just use that to delete your tables and/or database to start over. I believe Joe's delete_tables utility is more specifically designed to be sure to remove the data for a specific league in situations where you are hosting more than one BOSI league. I find it far easier to just remove the tables myself in a DB admin tool like phpMyAdmin.

I deleted the tables, and also did something to screw up my phpbb2, so I requested my server to restore my tables

I am using BOSI version 1 with ootp5. I tried creating a different database, and then when installing, I get all the way to registering my username, and then when I try to set up the league information and then updating, I get the following error message:

Error updating record.

You are in luck. OOTP5 and BOSI1 are my specialty.

The step you are doing doesn't know what league you are operating on and that is why the SQL is failing. You have to be sure that every URL during the setup process has as one of its parameters:

?lid=x

where x is the league id of your league. Typically 1 if its your first and only league in that BOSI database.

BUT

It sounds like you are on the league_admin.php step. If you run league_admin.php WITHOUT a league id (lid) it is in insert mode. Where basically it creates the league when you enter the info. When you run league_admin.php WITH a league id (i.e. league_admin.php?lid=1 ) it thinks you are in edit mode.

What is the specific URL you have in your browser when you are getting this error?

You still need to create your league right? Because you just deleted everything and need to start over?

In which case you want to access that URL without the ?lid=1 on the end of it. This will access the page in insert mode. At the bottom of the page, it shows how many leagues you have. Assuming you just reset the database, you have none. So once you enter the info, it should create a new league, assign it a league ID and then it will appear at the bottom of that page.

Unfortunately, I don't have time to walk you through it on AIM. But I will continue to provide help on the forum.
