Question about Lahmans database

I started a league in 1984 using the Lahman database. I have noticed the lack of players in the minors as well as NO free agents. I unfortunatly started the season already but I was wondering how or if there is a way to get more real life players in the game either through FA or Draft. I have the draft set for 3 rounds of which we will run. Is it possible to make the draft say 5 rounds and then change it to 3 after during the draft? Will Lahmans database provide enough players for 5 rounds???

Please pass along any info as well.

Thanks so much

Mike B

The first year just gives you the players that were on the roster that year.

Next year you'll be able to download the ML players that made their ML debut in '85. After a few years, you'll be able to have your minor leagues relatively filled up. I'd just play the first year or two with low or no injury rate.

The number of rounds in the draft each year depends on how many players made their debut that year.

So if I have it set for 3 rounds will it only allow 3 rounds and the rest of the guys become FA? Or will it change the 3 rounds automatically to more or less rounds depending on the amount of players available.

Also on my other post, you dont think its odd that not one player on any team has had a bump either way yet? I figured at least a couple guys would be decreasing (Especially the older guys). Ya know, like lost some momentum on his fastball kinda thing.

Thanks Again

Thanks for you help bud.

From what I remember (haven't played that way in a while), if you have it set for 3 rounds, the rest of the guys be come FAs. If you want to capture everyone, just set it to 20 rounds and it will end when the rookies run out.

How far are you into the season, and how do you know no one has taken a hit?

We are 36 games into the season. I know that because under player development it has no news whatsoever for any team.

Go into League Setup and see if your league is setup to be Replay or Career. I bet it is Replay since that is the default.

In a Replay league, I don't think the ratings change.

You are correct it is in replay. Question is, will it effect my league if I change it now being already started. I did a test on this on a league I created myself, I didnt see a difference but I am unsure if Online leagues are any different.

Please let me know if you know.

THANKS

I don't think it would hurt anything. You've just player 36 games without any player development. Once you switch it over, you'll start having player dev.
