YES!!! Toadfreak's Opening Week Rosters (with Full Minors)
New rosters with every team's full minors up at OOTPdownloadcenter.com (Thanks JoeRock).
*****Note on ratings: I took the time to look up every player that is in my set and adjust his ratings according to 3-year trend, current ability based on last year's stats, and prospect reports.**** (1) 25-man and 40-man rosters are accurate (depending on what day you compare them to. Rosters are always changing). I did not touch lineups, rotations, etc for the same reason halofan doesn't. (2) AAA and AA rosters are accurate as of Opening Day. (Other sets I have glimpsed have hundreds of minor leaguers on the wrong teams. Literally hundreds!) (3) A-ball rosters are made up of the top prospects for each team not already in AAA or AA. (4) Includes every prospect from Baseball America's Top 10 Prospects for every team. (5) Minor leagues no longer will be "overloaded" (i.e. with teams of 35 or 40 players) due to ratings adjustments based on current minor league level. (6) This file includes .dat files for Eric Jaffe's MVP Stadium pack. Download it and choose the 'day stadiums' option. Please let me know of any major oversights! (I know that some older players and prospects are missing career stats, but I simply don't have time to input all the stats. If someone would like to do that, please private message me and I'll give you a link to the master file. Then we can re-release the set. However, I think the ratings are what's most important, and I believe my ratings to be the most accurate, guaranteed!). I did extensive research for these (3 months, 5 hours a day, 5-6 days a week). Looked at every player's splits and career stats. Yes, this took forever. Clarification on the ratings ------------------------- Contact Ratings (I used a rating of 50 to equal about an average of .250): 50-60--->.240-.275 60-70--->.260-.300 70&up--->.290+ Power: 40-50--->10-15 HRs 50-60--->15-20 HRs 60-70--->20-25 HRs 70-80--->25-30 HRs 80&up--->30+ HRs Stuff: Above 70--->expect K/9 > 9 (about 1 strike out an inning) Below 70---> K/9 < 9 Control: Below 60--->expect about 1 walk every 2 innings (4 or 5 per 9 innings) Above 60---> much better control I hope this set finds you well. Enjoy!!! I will continue updating things I've missed. As far as transactions, my next set with updated transactions will be after the trade deadline. |

By the way, I think some Free Agents might actually be on a team in real life (but are in the FA pool in the game), but they weren't on any minor league team roster opening day (which means they're probably in extended spring training).
If you find someone who's not supposed to be a FA let me know. (yes, I know about Oliver). Last edited by toadfreak7; 04-13-2005 at 09:59 AM. |

Nice roster
what you mean by this? "(5) Minor leagues no longer will be "overloaded" (i.e. with teams of 35 or 40 players) due to ratings adjustments based on current minor league level." and i think career stats does matter too, because Ai evaluation % has stats too in league setup. do you recommend we go by your league setup that you have on your roster? I meant other roster sets have 40 guys in AAA for each team. My roster has 24-30 guys. They're accurate. I would love to make the stats more accurate, but I simply don't have the time. Anybody that does have the time, feel free to fix and then ask for permission to re-release. I'd recommend playing around with all the league setup stuff. I like it the way it comes in the set with exception of the league totals, 40-man, and waiver rule. In other thread, I posted accurate league totals to use. I usually turn off waiver rule and 40-man roster, and turn on Arbitration and Minor League FA. |

Thanks
do you have the formulas how you got your all your ratings for the players for HR, contact, doubles, fielding %, range, steals, bunts, gap, movement, stuff, etc? like how to know to give a player a 80 in power and someone else a 90 in power, etc. ands is your roster updated as it was for opening day, or up to current day? thanks |

The formulas are mentioned in the first post of this thread under "clarification of ratings." Basically I looked at a players' last 3 years of stats, and took into account whether they were declining or increasing, then also took into account split stats for each player. Those 3 criteria went into each rating. |

I also recommend turning off the star rating and all the other ratings to make it more realistic. That way you don't notice the ratings bumps and declines as much, and are able to make roster decisions based on performance more than ratings.
BTW, in league setup I use: Ratings wt: 52% 2005: 46% 2004: 3% 2003: 1% |

Contact Ratings (I used a rating of 50 to equal about an average of .250):
50-60--->.240-.275 60-70--->.260-.300 70&up--->.290+ so if a player hits .290 you give him a 70 rating. what if he hit .300, .320, etc do you have more detail breakdown on how you did your ratings for everything that you said on your above post. thanks |

first look at the roster looks great for the tribe
some tribe salaries are off - overall team salaries are pretty close but some, like seattle (10M too high) are not correct also, the team history for cleveland shows 73-89 last year - is that editable anywhere? |

Go tribe, if any of the salaries you notice are really far off (i.e. more than $1 mil or so), post 'em and I'll change 'em and then re-release the set in a couple of days with those and some other changes I've already made (like lowering Soriano's Avoid K's; it's too high in the set currently up).

Just a quick thing I noticed about the Mariners. Raul Ibanez is in AAA on your set.

And I don't know if anyone else is having a problem with the Angels starting Merloni over Cabrera or not, but it's puzzling to me. The AI on the game is so inconsistent. Hopefully Markus will improve it in OOTP7. |

Great set. Just a couple of things I've noticed so far. Brad Wilkerson bats and throws left, and I believe that Anderson Hernandez is now with the Mets, not the Tigers.
Great job, though.

Toad,
found a problem - i'm about 20 games into a new season - when I look at the league leaders, a few spots on each leaderboard are completely blank. a little investigating shows that these people are somehow still retired but playing. one of them is roger clemens. when i look at top era guys, his spot is blank (it shows on the html, just not in the in-game league leaders screen). when i open clemens on the astros and look at his player html page, it creates r3206.html - which is for a retired guy. when i look in pierre's unretire utility, there are a TON of guys in there that are active in your roster set but listed as retired. you can't unretire them with that utility because it sticks a duplicate player in the FA pool. i'm not sure how to fix this or what effect it's going to have on the league down the road |
