OOTP League Opening
I am wondering if anyone is interested in joining a OOTP 6 baseball league. Here is what it’s all about:
My friends and I run a fictional OOTP 6 league. The league is called the CBA (Canadian Baseball Association). There are two conferences: Eastern and Western. Both conferences hold six teams each. The teams are: West Saskatoon T-Birds Regina Generals Vancouver Storm Edmonton Mohawks Calgary Wild Cats Winnipeg Woodchucks East Halifax Navigators Quebec City Blaze Sherbrooke Charros Ottawa Identity Toronto Orbitz St. Johns Thunder My friends and I run the Western Conference and the CPU runs the East. We were thinking and decided that we want to try out human managers for the Eastern teams for a season and see how it goes, and since none of the rest of our friends are into baseball, we figured that we mise well go to the internet. Here is the run down of the league: - Only two of us own OOTP, so we don’t use an FTP server to send in lineups or anything. We do them in text. And also, since only two of us own OOTP, we use the “Generated Report” from OOTP and send it out to everyone, and that’s their game file in a sense. This also means that you do not need to own OOTP to join this league. - We sim usually 5 days at a time, twice or in some cases three times a week. Sim days at the moment are Tuesday and Saturday. Sometimes we may do a “series” sim, or a one day sim, but that rarely happens. When we get down to the wire in the playoff races, we sim once a day, one day at a time. - Some of us lead busy lives, so sometimes sims may be a day later or the Generated Report might get out a day late. - We have a website, though it isn’t updated a lot, and the East section and the game report has never been updated. Here is a link. - The one thing I think is real cool about our league (and I don’t know if others do this) is that we announce one or two games each sim. Sometimes it will be one man broadcasting and other times it may be a two man team. The play by play commentator will always stay the same, but sometimes the color commentator will change. We either use Team Speak or we tape them using Freecorder and use a FTP or Hotmail we have set up to send them out. We also have audio preview shows and interviews. - Another thing we do with the audio and Team Speak is what we call a “live sim”. This is basically a normal sim, just the game scores are told inning by inning; game by game over team speak of that sim. - Currently, we are in our third season of play. We are half way done, just past the All-Star break. League Rules: - Standard Roster Limit: 25 - 40 Man Roster - Waiver Rule, 5 Days Waiver Period - Designated Assignment: 10 days. Once designated, a player cannot be designated for Assignment for 14 days. This is to prevent teams from keeping a player in limbo on Designated for Assignment because he refuses to be sent down to the minors. - Minor League Options, Minor League Free Agents, Rule 5 Draft and Salary Arbitration all Enabled. - Minimum Days for one years service: 60 Days - Trades can not happen between conferences. - When re-signing a player or signing a free agent, you make offers to the player without seeing what he exactly wants. You will be informed if he wants more or less then what you are offering. - Two Teams from each Conference make the Playoffs. First round is a 5 game series. Championship is a 9 game series. Championship is called “The Canada Cup”. - 12 game period of interleague play. - Season is 93 games long. I think that is everything. If you are interested in running an East team for next season, please email me at roll_out98@hotmail.com. It will be easier if you have msn, so we can talk there. Thank you. |
