Bowe easily won the fight 96-92 if you actually watched the fight.
He will need to fight another 2 fights of this caliber though before stepping up any. |

He didn't win easily by the way. One judge gave the other guy the fight by a similar score. Every time Bowe was hit with a good punch he backed up into the ropes which is a bad sign if he fights a top 100 guy. He looked like crap, both fitness wise and the way he faught. He stands NO chance against anyone in the top 50.

I saw that he weighed 260 something back in September & weighed 280 last night! You have to wonder how serious he is if he's "coming back" & gains about 20 pounds between fights?

I didn't say he looked great, just that he easily won the fight 96-92.
Just because some idiot scored the fight 95-93 for Billy Z doesn't mean that was the correct scroing of the fight. I mean Billy Z was knocked down once and had a point taken away once. Aside from the round he ROCKED Bowe he won two other rounds. The other 7 rounds he rarely connected with punches(I don't count hitting Bowe's gloves as a scoring punch) and most of the ones he threw were in the last 10 seconds of each round. Bowe's jab won him the fight. Bowe needs to train more than 3 weeks with 1 week of sparring. Bowe need to fight someone equal or less in talent than Billy Z. Most likely for the next 2 fights. If Bowe doesn't show improvement with the Right Hand, he should give it up. |

I had 6 rounds to 4 for Bowe, but two of them were 2 point rounds due to the knockdown and Point deduction. Give Billy Z credit, he took the fight to Bowe on occasion, but could not figure out how to take advantage of what was basically a one dimensional (Jab) Fighter in front of him. The next tier up should have no problem handling Bowe unless he can get the rest of his attack to flow off of what is still a pretty damn good Jab. I think if Billy Z had been able to better slip Bowes jab and step in as he did so working body to head it may have been a different result. Much easier to say than do though.

I had it 5-4-1 for Bowe, and taking into consideration the knockdown and point deduction, the scores of the two seemed about right. Bowe landed jabs, but was seriously outhustled and outworked. I realize Zumbrun's punches weren't doing any serious damage, but he was throwing more (and landing more in the first few rounds). Hard to believe the journeyman was the aggressor ... and came off as more impressive, despite not winning.

Is the division and the boxing public so desperate for a star that it will let a fat former champ dictate that he "will not lose weight" for anything but a "championship level" opponent? Riddick needs a little attitude adjustment. Maybe we should shout for a top (what passes for one today) opponent to take him on so he can get his slow, fat •?# whipped. What is the man thinking, coming in at 280? Pride usually goeth before a butt-kicking ...

I don't want to see Bowe against good competition. Not yet.
I was impressed by two things from Bowe. 1. His JAB. 2. The fact he looked to handle the 10 rounds as well as Billy Z did. I expected Bowe to only be sucking wind after 6. Evidently those JAB's were carrying some power behind them. He should only throw right-hands for the next week of training. He must lose weight if he wants to continue this comeback. At least it was on cable TV and not PPV. |

Let's see Bone in there with David Tua. Tua will whip Bowl's arse, and I haven't even see Bog fight yet for real. This is a top attraction? What's happened to the heavyweight division? Hardly a single heavy in the top 50 under 30 years of age? A bunch of talentless lard-buckets shoving each other around the ring...when they can catch their breath.

I think that Bowe should fight Tyson. Loser retires. For good.

Did anyone hear an interview with Bowe after the fight? I was curious how his speech sounded? I didn't see the fight, just clips on ESPN. From what I saw, it seemed like he took some punishment over the 10 rounds.
