How do you input your own TRUE LIFE stats?

Ok, so someone told me to follow this link: www.liguemtl.com/download.html and use the databases in there to create my own info. However, I have no idea what I'm doing. I want to create my own league, add the REAL rosters current to date, 2/23/05, and add 2003 & 2004 REAL LIFE stats for these players. Then rate them myself. But I have no idea where it allows me to add this info. When player editor is on in the game, I wish it would allow for us to add stats there, but NOOOOOOOOO. So a guy at work tells me that he might be able to create a database through Microsoft ACCESS that he can make link with the OOTP6, but again, I have no idea what he is talking about. What are csv files? I know it separates data with commas, but how to input all this on a spreadsheet and then import it into my game? Finding stats and entering data is my thing, where to do it and how to do it is not.

Please help. I've heard other guys say they copy and paste stats from websites like espn.com and enter them onto a spreadsheet. Ok, so how do you get that info into OOTP6?

uhm bums, so to use Pierre's editor (that link), download the etire Utility Suite. Then, use the 'Career Editor' go open up your league (by selecting your .lg folder). It'll open up a list of teams, positions, and players.

So then, select whichever player, and it will let you edit his past career stats. Just remember to save the player and close the league when you're all done (under File)

As for CSVs, i haven't actually used them myself (can you actually change stats and things with that?) CSV are basically text files, with data seperated by commas. you should easily be able to import them into Microsoft Excel... either just open them up directly or there should be an import from CSV option.

As for editing ratings, you can easily do this by turning Editor mode on inside the game, although there is probably a way to do the CSV thing too.

thanks for the info on pierre's utility. I will try that. I have some other database guru at my work looking at the csv thing. As for the ratings, I knew the game allowed that, but I"m trying to enter all the 2004 stats so I can play a 2005 season with current stat info. Thanks again.

Yeah, that shouldn't be a problem to input all the stats.. You could also save yourself a little of the trouble and download Halofan's roster set... Just look at some of the other Halofan threads for a link... It's all set for the 2005 season.

Well, under file, i save player, then close league, when I open the league up on the actual game, the stats are not there that I just entered. For example, on the basic league I changed the players name that ended in Woody who was really Carlos Beltran, went into career editor and entered his real name, then added his 2004 stats and post season stats, selected save player under file, then selected close league under file, but when opening the game, its not saved or showing what I did. There has to be some sort of EXPORT step or file path I'm missing here. Damnit!

I'm having the same problem right now, I edit the stats but when I open the game there are no changes. If I go back to the editor the stats are the ones I saved but they don't show up in the game. Any help would be great!

I found that if you don't open the database editor from your desktop, but rather from your hard drive, it works. Good luck, it worked for me.
