I tried to re-license OOTP3 & FOF2 tonight and neither one could connect to get the license. I even tried hitting elicense.com and it was hosed as well. Hopefully it's just some maintenance or something.

Yeh, FOF2 was the best IMO as well. I hope they get this worked out before 6am.

Hopefully Jim is working to improve that, but he is keeping his new project secret. |

Didn't Jim mention in one of the chats that he has to start all the way back at the FOF foundation, because EA actually ended up with the rights to the FOF2 and FOF2K1 foundations? Maybe I'm just remembering incorrectly but I thought I saw that on FOFC

Hmm, now I'm all worried that e-license went down. Can't license ootp4 if they don't get their crap together. Even their website is broken. This can't be good.
I sound like some kind of doomsday freak. |

It'll be interesting to see if he is doing a football game, what he has altered. |

Jim needs to make a multiplayer version but he hasn't seemed too receptive to the idea. I suspect that will never happen.

Can't wait for Jim's next product, I have no idea what it could be but it leaves you with a warm 'It could be' feeling... Good idea to keep it quiet until closer to release.

I can’t say that I blame him, But IMO Jim seem to tire of the nit picking of the community and almost seemed uninterested in creating anything new. I don’t claim to “know” him but I was one of his first ten customers and back in the beginning talked a lot to him via e-mail, he seemed much happier then.
I think the greatest mistake Jim made, is the great accomplishment of Markus. Jim made his game very closed so there was little you could do in terms of editing and customization. Markus kept his game totally open. That way not only do you got lots of people making add-ons, but the game itself never grows old, since it can always be customized. As good a game as OOTP is, what gives it its “cult” following is the tremendous OOTP community. Everyone has something to add and it makes for a very positive experience.

I'm not sure what customer number I am but he did call me that first day(FOF1 ofcourse) to make sure my order went through. I guess the company he had taking orders botched something. It would seem to me (your average drunk) that a game like that would sell more copies if it had a multiplayer option. I'm baffled why he has no interest in doing such. Perhaps it's the difficulty of it all.

He doesn't like online games, hence no online products. EA was supposed to release FOF online, but they dropped the ball as EA always does. Jim is a good developer, and I'll pretty much buy anything he makes. But he is egocentric, and his customer service skills are somewhat lacking. |

Ain't that the truth...both statements are how I feel exactly...i would buy any of his products as they are great, but his ego is as big as my last girls A$$...and that was big

Not to worry, it's back up. It was probably just server maintenance, but E-License is back online.

Thank God, I almost jumped off a tall building when I heard that it was down.
