My order of preference as to who wins the World Series:

1. Twins
2. Oakland
3. St. Louis
4. Atlanta
5. San Francisco
6. Anaheim
7. Arizona
8. New York

Who I think will win (in order)

1. Atlanta
2. Arizona
3. New York
4. Oakland
5. Minnesota
6. Anaheim
7. San Francisco
8. St. Louis

I doubt anyone would have guessed the Mariners would have fallen off so much.

Sorry about my post earlier it was more of a preview and not just guesses.

I think the Braves and Twins will go 7 again, except this time Smoltzie finishes the job.

Wow, not much in support for STL or Anaheim! Here are the up to date tallies:

ATL: 16
OAK: 13
NY: 10
AZ: 7
SF: 5
MIN: 6
STL: 2
ANA: 1

Most often listed match-up: New York vs. Atlanta (7 times)

Re: World Series Matchup - Call Your Shot!

National League
----------------------
Atlanta Braves
St. Louis Cardinals
Arizona Diamondbacks
San Francisco Giants

American League
------------------------
New York Yankees
Minnesota Twins
Oakland Athletics
Anaheim Angels

without reading anybody's...

NY over ANA in 5
- The underdog Angels will scare the confident Yankees who will give them hope and then crush them, 8-1, in the finale, as the Angels hitters realize they actually mostly suck

OAK over MIN in 4
- Minnesota's pitching is in disarray and the Twins can't hit the A's pitchers. That said, the 1983 Phillies couldn't beat the 1983 Dodgers until the playoffs.

ARI over STL in 5
- Schilling + Johnson in the playoffs means not having to pray for rain.

ATL over SF in 4
- If Bonds sees one pitch to hit all week, it will be too many.

==============

OAK over NY in 6
- Giambi having to face the left-handed A's will result in a .105 BA and no power, and Soriano is dog tired.

ARI over ATL in 7
- See above

==============

ARI over OAK in 7
- I don't really believe that the D'backs will be beaten in the playoffs until Schilling and Johnson are injured or retired. Schilling was a great playoff pitcher even in 1993.

I agree...I would like to see a rematch of the '91 series. Twins and Braves played during the season this year, and played close..

Twins 6-5 (15 innings)
Braves 11-0
Braves 3-2

So, as long as the Twins don't give Kyle Lohse a chance to give up 7 runs in 4 innings, it's all good. And about Smoltz--against the twins this year...1 IP, 2 ER

Twins in 7.
