I've told people that Peralta isn't Omar at SS, that's most people who don't know much about the Indians. He has a very nice bat though, which I think in the end will be better than Omar's.

Phillips, well, you can't hit, what, .176 in ST? and expect to be on the ML roster. I expected Phillips to eventually be the everyday 2B, but he's gotta improve.

But if the offense is humming along this year, they might need to sacrifice the bat at one position to shore up what right now is at best and everage middle infield. Granted, .176 is too much to drop down too, but I think given time Phillips should at least be around a .230-.250 hitter. For a gold glove caliber defender (and as I understand he really is that good) it may be worthwhile.

Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, 5 to 4; I don't believe what I just saw! I don't believe what I just saw!

Nice,

15+ innings, 1 (un)earned run.

Not a bad start, not a bad start at all.

Go Kevin!

Indians had Garcia on the ropes the entire game but couldn't do more damage than the 2-0 lead. Sizemore singled in the 2nd, stole second, then came home on a Belliard double. Then later in the game, with 2 outs and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Garcia balked in run number 2. Boone has stranded 5 baserunners.....

Any odds Sizemore has seen his last AAA game? I suspect Juan Gone will come back to find his job taken.

I was worried all along that the plan was to stick with Wickman. He was a good closer in the day, but to put everything on a 36 year old coming off Tommy John surgery? I know other options were scarce, but they could have put up a little more $ for Percival.

Sizemore seen his last AAA game last season when called up. Sizemore was placed this year to make his breakout. I love the kid, he can do it all. I really think he can put up similar numbers such as Edgar Renteria(yeah I know, different positions).

The hitting depth on this team is so unreal, they need to deal someone to acquire another stud SP.

As for the CL, I actually thought Wickman was going to have a decent year. It's only the 1st week, give him a break/time. Like you said, he's coming off the surgery. I say that, even though I thought they should've given Davis the ball there. Wedge needs to improve his bullpen management, it's my main big gripe on him.

I think the future plan is to get Davis ready for the role, but I'm not happy how they handled him this spring. He's a big guy with a semi-complicated delivery and really needs to focus on one set task to get his rythm right, but instead they had him all over the board, starting, relieving, whatever. I fear they may have just screwed him up further. Put him in the pen and get him used to relieving, then groom him to close next year. But they elected to use him as the bandaid for the solution to Sabathia going down instead. I think they should have sucked it up with someone like Kyle Denney instead and let Jason focus on the long term goal of being a reliever. The pressure to win now is affecting some of the decision making and long term planning in the pitching staff.

Right about now, I'd consider getting Lee Smith out of retirement.

You need XM to end-around the evil administrators!

That being said:
Sox - 5
Tribe - 1

Contreras has pretty much had his way with the Indians, giving up the run on a wild pitch and a single by the Chocolatey Breakfast Treat
[EDIT]
**Harrumph** "Mr. Zero", indeed...

How can there have been nothing added to this thread after that amazing comeback today? 3 solo shots to tie it in the 9th? A 6 run 11th? Come on! Go Tribe!
