Saiko Bika & Daniel Geale - shane?
shane, I was just reading about these 2 guys in Fenech's stable. Jeff said Geale's the best prospect in Australia. Just curious what you know about these 2 & your thoughts? Also, ever seen any TB ratings for either one?
I also read that Jeff & Danny Green might be on the outs now. |

I haven't seen any tape / video of Sakio Bika - But here is a little bit of info on him -
Date of Birth: 18th April 1979 Place of Birth: Douala, Cameroon Division: middleweight Stance: orthodox Wins* 18 Losses* 1 Draws* 0 KO's* 11 Bio: Sakio Bika first came to Sydney, Australia representing Cameroon at the 2000 Olympic Games. The All-African amateur champion impressed many good local boxing judges and he decided to stay, eventually joining Team Fenech. Both of these guys were on a Fenech card on Friday night at the Panthers Leagues Club in Penrith. I saw it on Foxtel. Geale just dominated his opponent for a 1st round TKO, while Bika scored a 6th round TKO. Both were pretty impressive. Geale doesn't hit too hard, but his accuracy was something to see. Had the guy bleeding from the nose.
As for Green, he played an April fools joke on one of the Foxtel commentators, telling him he was going to retire. I don't think that he's going to leave Fenech. Jeff said that the defeat against Bayer has just made Danny realise that he has to work even harder. Last edited by kenyan_cheena; 04-03-2005 at 07:51 PM. |

Daniel Geale is a Tasmanian lad who represented Australia at the 2000 Olympics and won the Gold medal at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. I've seen him fight a couple of times on the TV, and he looks pretty good, and as Kenyan Cheena says his accuracy is impressive. He beat Sean Connell by TKO 3, which is a good effort as Sean has a very long and impressive amateur background and is no push-over. With experience and the right training/guidance he could be very good, however time will tell. As for him being Australia's best young prospect, well he is one of many. One fella I like the look of (and have seen him "live" a fair few times) is 21 year old SMW Daniel "Porky" Lovett, who has "poential" written all over him. Hopefully this boy can reach his full potential in the future, and at his young age has time on his side.
Sakio Bika is a skillfull boxer with very fast handspeed and reasonable power. His loss against Soliman was apparently a close loss, which is a good effort, as Soliman is up there in the world top ten 10 MW's. Again I've only seen him on TV, but I think he might be ready to have a crack at some of the upper echelon of the MW division in the near future. I haven't seen any ratings for these boys yet. As for Green and Fenech, they supposedly have no written contract with eachother, so if Green wants to leave he can, but I dunno what will happen. Cheers, Shane.

As always shane, thanks for the info! I wish we'd see more of the fighters from down under up here in the States!

Guys;
I'll try to rate Bika for the next group of Africans I've got coming out soon. Anyone have a pic? ![]()
