Names and Logo Requests

starting a fictional league that's going to be sort of a bastardized version of the MLB - it'll be a mix of about 2/3 existing real teams and 1/3 new teams. Some new teams are getting renamed...others are staying the same.

first off, I need some naming ideas for a couple of teams (keeping in mind that I'll be requesting logos next, so I'd like names that will lend themselves nicely to logos:

Cleveland
Ignoring the racist stuff, I think Indians is just a silly name, so I'm looking for a new name. The only thing I know about Cleveland is the Rock Hall of Fame...

Edmonton
I wouldn't mind some sort of "western" theme here (their chief rival will be the Calgary Stampede, but I'm open. Edmonton Miners came to mind, but I don't know if that's appropriate for the town or not.

Seattle & Jacksonville
EDIT: I think Jacksonville Sun and Seattle Storm it is.

Nashville Stars
reference is to country music, but I'm 100% open to logo ideas

Memphis Kings
I don't know what I want here...but it's not Elvis, unless it is really, really cleverly and tastefully done

Charlotte Rebels
I KNOW exactly what I want here - I want LGOs Richmond/Memphis Rebels logo renamed. (Note: could you also do the same thing as the Charlotte Confederates? I'm not sure which way I'm going here)

Vancouver Thunderbirds
100% open on this.

Calgary Stampede
I've done a Stampede logo before, and I saw another one here that I liked, but I'd like to browse a couple more choices

Jacksonville Sun or Jacksonville Sun Rays
100% open -

Dallas Texans
There's a couple good ones floating around on the board...but I'd like to see another take

Denver Gold

Seattle Storm
I have a Storm logo that I think is from the Lake Elsinore Storm that I like very much. I wouldn't mind seeing something adapted from that...but I'm open. For some reason, I picture the colors black and yellow for this team...

If you go with the Seattle Storm, which I personally like, you could go with the Jacksonville Sun. They seem to like pushing the "sunny" idea...plus Florida is the "Sunshine State"...www.wherefloridabegins.com

And the State bird is the Cardinal...so Cleveland Cardinals

DD, I have no idea why but I thought you were a logo maker. So I found it kinda odd that you were requesting logos for your league. I guess I got you mixed up with someone else.

On topic, I like the logos provided so far. The one done by Al especially, good job dude.

Seeing as I live in Edmonton, I will see what I can come up with. The miners would work ok, as we used to be one the the main thorough ways for the gold rush. Our annual fair is called 'Klondike Days". BTW...we are a city, not a town

facepacks, yes. logos? no. I have made a few logos for my own solo league in the past...but, frankly, after seeing some of the amazing work that people are doing here, I couldn't even think about attempting these on my own.
