Question pitcher stats

guys I need some help on the pitcher's number of strikeouts/year.

you know how schilling and johnson got at least 300 strikeouts every year. However, I have been going 20 plus years with my league so far, I haven't seen anyone with 160 plus strikeouts yet. you know how should i do to improve the strikeout numbers for a pitcher??!!

Wow, every year I've played so far I've at least gotten someone to get at least 250 K's. My problem was in the early years like the Dead Ball Era there were pitchers getting 400 K's and one sometimes even past 500 K's in a season. He only topped 500 a few times and ended up getting injured a lot later in his career. Did pitchers back then throw that many K's? I know I have a three man rotation with a Spot Starter going here and there but 400 and 500 K's seem like a lot to me. I'm just used to Modern Era Baseball I'm sure. My suggestion is that maybe none of your pitchers are great strikeout pitchers. What are their ratings for Strikeouts? If it's high they should be posting up some good numbers.

500??!!! wow that is really ALOT for modern era baseball. anyway, one of my pitcher has the rating 10 for his K. however, he only gets 160 Max... I mean MAX so far in his career year. I don't know man, somehow this is really frurstrating me as far as creating an ACE pitcher is concerned.

You both need some monkeying with your era setting (league set-up) by the sounds of things. unfortunately i'm not too wise in the way of monkeying, so i can't help any further...

Oh, and 500 sounds totally unreasonable but last season, Randy Johnson would have had that many (or thereabouts, going by K/9IP) if he'd pitched as many innings as Nolan Ryan in his record-setting K's year. At least that's what i've heard, i don't have the stats in front of me

If you want your strikeouts to go up, decrease the number of strikeouts in your setup for league totals, and if you want K's to go down, then increase the strikeout totals.
