Not a factor when he's still in the minors with Scott Bakula.

I'd like to see the Indians do it, but it'll probably be the Twins.

Actually, the key to winning an internet argument is to find a website with keys to winning internet arguments, then posting a link to it rather than taking the time to formulate any sort of coherent or reasonable argument.

I like this Daddy Warbuck$ guy. He's got spunk. The Indians will give the Twins a run for the money and it could get interesting, but I'd definitely rather have the Twins pitching staff. Millwood will be better, but you never know what you're going to get wtih C.C. and I'm not sold on Westbrook or Lee..... Scott Elarton? gimme a break.

Brad Radke did have one of his two best seasons of his career last year, but many pitchers have demonstrated that they get better later and that their prime might be 32-35 as opposed to a hitter's prime of 27-30. I definitely think that Radke will have more value for his team than Juan Gonzalez will for the Indians. Too brittle he is.

Getting to watch my Indians play for the first time this year on TV, although I have been listening to the games on the radio. Looking good! Up 8-0 against the Dodgers in the 6th.

Andy, I agree with most of what you say here, but in fairness, Elarton was pretty decent in Cleveland last year before he was shipped out to Colorado (why in God's name they would even think of acquiring a severe flyball pitcher in Colorado is beyond me). Slotting him as their #5 isn't a bad move to start the year.

Jones? Stewart? Mauer, oh boy, scariest #2 hitters in the league.

Don't get the wrong impression, Twins are a solid team, but there time has come, and why does every non indians fan in the whole world forget that we have more trade-able prospects in AAA than teams such as the Dodgers have in their whole organization? If we are contending, what do you think we would get for a Ludwick? and he's mid-tier on our prospect chart.

If you're gonna argue baseball, better bring you guns, canned arguements and snide comments don't make you the "internet winner"....
Why has their time come? Yes, Rade may slightly decline, but they have Johan, who was unhittable after the Break. Silva was in his first year of starting. Joe Mays is back after TJ surgery, and he's looked good this spring. Kyle Lohse knows he has to pitch well or he's done.

In the lineup, if Mauer is healthy he's an enormous upgrade over Henry "I can't even hit my own weight" Blanco. Mauer was excellent last year before he got hurt last year. Morneau will be playing the whole year, and he's a huge upgrade over 1/2 year of Mientkiewicz. Cuddyer should be very close to passing Koskie's numbers. Whoever they put at SS should come close to replacing Guzman's numbers. They've still got an excellent bullpen.

Yes, the Inidans are a dangerous team with a good lineup, but thy don't have enough pitching, I don't think.

Torii Hunter might be the most overrated player in baseball. His defense is not as good as people claim (it's good, but he's borderline top 5 among CFs) and offensively he's mediocre.

Joe Mauer can't stay healthy, so "when he's healthy" is like saying "Luis Rivas will hit 50 home runs when he can hit the ball."

Cuddyer and his .330 career OBP doesn't scare me. Doesn't hit for a lot of power, either.

Jacque Jones isn't a top 40 outfielder in baseball.

Justin Morneau (soup for you!) will be good, but let him do it over a full season first.

Of those guys, only Shannon Stewart scares me. The Twins are NOT that good. They haven't been for the past handful of years. They're a decent team, but not a great team. The only reason the Twins have won so many division titles is that the White Sox are run by a buffoon. Unless the Indians step up this year, nothing will change.

Last year was the only year Mauer had significant injuries that forced him to miss time. He's been relatively healthy this spring, so how can he all of a sudden not stay healthy.

Cuddyer has not even really gotten a chance to play the couple years. Oh, he'll sub in if someone's hurt, but he usually only played sporadically and at different positions. Hard to get into any offensive rhythm either. Also, he's shown a good amount of power in the Minors.

I agree, this is a two way battle between the Indians and Twins. However, after Mornau, *Mauer and Johann... the Tweins have replacement level playwers at virtually every position.

The Indians, however, have a much better balalnced lineup, and have, I believe, a deeper rotation (Though I give 1-2 to Minny).

It wil be an exciting race.

*I think Victor Martinez > Joe Mauer.
