Huge Updates at the Download Center

I've had the past few days off work and with it being extremely nasty outside I got to stay inside and catch up on a few things. Take a look at the Updates page for all the goodies that's been added this week.

I'd also like to thank the OOTP Community out there as I have gone over the 300 file mark. Great job by everyone!

Edit -- I have tonight off work as well so if you know of anything that can be added to the site, let me know!

I'd like to thank you for a very comprehensive web page. It is the perfect thing for non-experts and, I'd imagine, experts alike. Great page and thanks again.

As a long time fan of the OOTP series.....and someone who unfortunately had the need to abruptly format his hard drive do to the %$^$^ wouldn't load to desktop any longer.....having a place like OOTPdownloadcenter.com to find 95% of the lost add-ons and utilities and graphics.....is a godsend.

Thanks JoeR for the invaluable resource of stockpiled OOTP stuff (not to mention all the creators as well).

Yes. I will also have to say that I can't thank Joe enough. Besides the obvious OOTP enrichment with all sorts of add-on files, my own mod files probably won't have a home if not for Joe. Thanks, Joe!

Well, the purpose of my post here is actually to suggest some enhancement son the Download Center site. I have two suggestions for Download Center. First, I think the file collection on Download Center is large enough to warrante a further categorization. For example, facepack and logo sections could have "ficitonal" and "real-world" sub-categories and roster section could have "fictional", "historical", "present day", "database", and "non-MLB real-world leagues", etc. Second suggestion is the addition of a brief description for the add-on files. This is probably most applicable to the utilities section. So, for example, people (particularly new users) will know that the function/purpose of CommishJoe's Exporter is for outputing various in-game stats into CSV files. This way, not only the first-time Download Center visitors would have a easier time to find the files that they want, but I also think this should make the Download center to be more orgnized as well. Thanks for hearing out my suggestions.

Any idea on if any of my suggestions would make it into DownloadCenter? (the part on sub-categorization and program/file description) I still think a more detailed categorization would help the site navigation a lot. Thanks.

Good to hear that you are going to do some subcategorizing. Since the plan is to run the logo contest for 20 weeks, that's a lot of downloads to add to your ever growing logo section!

I see Carlton's 1901 League File listed on the update page but can"t seem to find it. Is it on your site yet?
