I don't think this matters whether the patch is beta or live. This is a complaint about a feature that has been added that may or may not harm someone's enjoyment of the game.

I have no idea whether it will or not, and whether this is better or worse than what it was previously, because waivers seem to be pretty FUBAR, IMO.

However, I don't see what's different with this (someone reading the fixes list and saying 'I don't like it) and the stooshie raised when Markus mentioned he was going to introduce POISE in a list of features (thank heavens for that stooshie, or else we'd have an engine akin to some other sims I could mention). The only difference is that the BETA was released by mistake. Even if it hadn't been, this would still have been an issue for this chap, because I'm pretty sure Markus mentioned he'd be doing something like this earlier.

Like I have said before, I understand it is BETA.

And with that, I think it's better that we noticed now that you are not allowed to put a player directly on DFA now, so it can be fixed for the final patch.

IF this is allowed with the final patch, it'll be the worst patch ever and totally make any good DFA has done, go to waste.

Markus

for DFA, why don't you have an option to have it on or off in the league setup.

Like you do for waivers.

Because DFA is where players who are signed or traded for are put.

so DFA was wrong before, when you can drag it from active roster to DFA box?

So DFA was meant for trades and free agents sign only?

it will still be cool to have it DFA option to turn on or off. if you want it like OOTP had it before DFA was introduced on ootp 6

No, the two things are unrelated.

Perhaps, but it's not feasible.

If the choice is having to place a player on waivers to put him on DFA, I would rather have it turned off.

I have not downloaded the patch, as we're just starting the postseason in our league but - I would assume that you could waive/DFA the player, and then just take the player off of waivers?? Most of the time when a player is going from active roster to DFA he's going on waivers ANYWAYS. IF that's the case (as I said, I don't know if it is because I haven't downloaded that patch), I'll take the tradeoff in order to close that loophole.

If not then, well it's somewhat disappointing.

This needs to be fixed and reversed. In MLB you can place a player on DFA and then decide what you want to do with him.

If you need to make room for a player on your 25 man roster you can send him to DFA and decide to do with him after the next sim. Just because you put a player on DVA does not mean he has to go on waivers. You can send him to AAA if he has options left, you can release him or put him on waivers.

IMO we are best off abandoning that sinking ship that is Off Topic to the rats infesting it and just starting a whole new Baseball Forum from scratch.

What hubris.

This was a beta version not meant for release. What makes people think that the testers did not see this and it wasn't corrected before final release that way?

Because no one trusts the beta testers...
