Database question

Forgive me for not running a search to answer my questions but I've looked at the various databases in the past and have not fully understood what each one does or doesn't do well.

My basic premise for my league is this: I'm starting in 1990 with 24 MLB teams and fictional players. However, from 1991 on I want to import a mix of real players and fictional players into my league's amateur draft every year, if that is even possible. I don't want the real players to already be big league ready when in the amateur draft but I would like them to have talent based on what they have done in their pro careers and realistic fielding ratings and percentages. From being drafted and onwards they must work their way through the minors like everyone else at the whims of the game engine. Anyone undrafted, as it will probably be a very large draft pool but not one with a lot of rounds, will hit free agency.

So, here's what I'm asking:
1) Is it possible to have both real and fictional players in an amateur draft ever year and if so how could I go about setting this up and keeping it going?

2) Which of the varied databases would I want to use for this league? As I said I don't want my draftees to already be big league ready, except of coruse for the occassional studs (but I can do without those if there aren't any).

1. I don't think is possible anymore, or at least I havn't been able to figure it out

2. try gambos database, players import much earlier than with the lahman or Ankit DB, but since the come in undeveloped some will never develop.

I have a california league that is very similar to what you are trying to do.

I was hoping I could swing real and fictional, but I'll settle for just real. I'll give Gambos database a try, thanks.

you cold do it in 5 but not in 6, I was bummed.

I have found that the hitting the "fill single-A with fictional players" button every couple years simulates the bottom end of a draft class nicely,
