MLB at Congress

10 minutes in and there's been nothing but congressmen saying the same crap with different words.

"Steroids are bad."

This is horrible. Aside from Bunning saying something that isn't true (he suggested that it's not normal for players to hit more homeruns as they get older), he suggested wiping out steroids-enhanced records and then cited a known performance-enhancing cheater (Willie Mays) as someone who didn't need to cheat. Gah.

He was using and supplying speed throughout the 60's and 70's.

Baseball imbecilic tendency to keep arguing that its past was better than its present never fails to piss me off. It also gives support to the idiots who insist it was better back in the day, just because. We've seen it on these boards enough.

Anybody that boasts about how the past was so much better than the present piss me off too. Whether it be music, baseball or movies. As things evolve they should get better.

Evolution isn't necessarily a positive thing. Something can evolve into something worse, or something with the same value. Evolution doesn't imply anything other than change.

Ok, well in a sport or music or automobiles, the more a person studies on it the better it will become. Technology makes it possible to improve on everything.

WTF. They just suggested that player/fan violent incidents are increasing and asked if that might be related to steroids use.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

This proves that Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb took them!
