I'd be willing to offer up ideas. There are many gems out there. What team are you drafting for? What positions would you want?

I'm back but haven't seen the family since Mon, so it's family time. Maybe I'll post a draft order tomorrow, but the absolute latest will be Mon after the TWB sim. Then, after the kids go to bed... well, I haven't seen the wife since Mon either

Oh, and btw, I may take the HOF standard down a bit, or I may leave it as is just to see what kind of players these rules bring out.

OK, the ammy draft will be 3 rounds. I don't want any HOF'ers for a while, because we have some pretty loaded teams. How's this:

Round 1
Teams 1-2 teams can pick any non-HOF
Teams 3-6 pick any non-HOF with HOF Standard below 50
Teams 7-10 pick any non-HOF with HOF Standard below 40
Teams 11-12 any non-HOF with HOF Standard below 30

Round 2
All teams pick any non-HOF with HOF Standard below 20

Round 3
All teams pick any non-HOF with HOF Standard below 10
Here's the draft order:

1. New Haven
2. Newark
3. Boston
4. Providence
5. Philly
6. Cleveland
7. Washington
8. Richmond
9. Louisville
10. Buffalo
11. Baltimore
12. New York

We'll use the draft rules I stated above & give it a shot.

We'll also go serpentine, so NY gets 1st pick of round 2, and New Haven 1st in Rd 3. Rounds 2-3 are optional, so if you don't want to draft in them, please post so we can pick someone for you.

I can't upload league reports right now because the TWB server is down. So maybe tonite or tomorrow.

Also, I believe jaxmagicman (Washington) is away for the weekend. So if I'm not around & his pick is holding things up, maybe Pete or Tom or someone can suggest a pick for him. Or we could skip him & I'll go back & pick for him.

We'll see how the above draft criteria works, so be flexible in future seasons if it goes up or down.

Looking over the ratings report...

The following guys have 10 power rating:

Bill Joyce
Frank Schulte
Bob Bailey
Bo Jackson
Jack Clements
Joe Jackson

10 power? For those guys? I know these are supposed to be normalized ratings, but still...

Matt you can get someone else to pick for the Providence team. I'll concentrate on my leagues.

Yes, we should just go ahead & start drafting anytime. I'll give it until 24 hours after I posted the draft list above, and if it hasn't started, I'll start myself.

If you don't pick 1st, send me a list so when I start the draft (if I have to do it myself) I can use your pick & not just find one on my own. I already have lists for Boston, Buffalo, Newark & Richmond, and it looks like I'll make picks for Providence unless a new person volunteers.

It's in the context of their time, so if I were using era-specific ratings, in the deadball they would hit 14 HR or in the 90s they'd hit 50.

Also remember 2 things: First if a player was imported in a season where he was among the top in HR's (i.e. a 14 HR season in the 1800s or early 1900s) he would import with a higher power rating than if I used his overall career average. And second, all the HOF'ers and AS's we drafted came in a rookies, so a lot of them are not fully developed, which is why they had poorer seasons than you might've expected. They will get better as they develop.

Frank Schulte hit 21 HR in 1911, the dead center of the deadball era. There are still MANY more players like them out there...all with HOF Standards near 20 or 30. Just look at the leaderboard for those eras and you'll find quite a crop.

By the way, where is the ratings report?? Edit: Never Mind

New Haven will go ahead and select CF Jim Edmonds. As for the rest of my picks, you may choose Matt.

Thanks. I'll have a large update either tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully the former. So if you have a player in mind, please PM me asap or I'll make my own pick for you to speed this along.

I think next time I'll just set some deadline & everyone can PM picks general instuctions (i.e. SS with speed) to me.
