Play in the Northwest League!

In this thread, you can sign up to become a player in the Northwest League (read about the NWL in this thread). Because the Northwest League takes players let loose from the major leagues as well as brand-new players that don't get signed by one of the remaining 24 major league teams, you can choose to be either a free agent to start your career or a brand-new prospect, age 18-22 to be drafted. If you choose to be a free agent, your player must be at least 23 years old.

The 2011 season is currently underway, so the earliest debut date will be 2012.

The Rules (subject to change):

You can have up to 5 players active at any one time, but no more than 2 debuting in any one season. There is no limit to how many players overall can debut in a specific year.

For hitters, choose specialties from contact, gap power, HR power, eye, avoiding Ks, defense or speed.
For pitchers, choose from stuff, control, movement, velocity, duration, defense or hitting (this is a no-DH league)

For character trait, choose one of Loyalty, Needs Winning Team, Team Leader, Clutch Performance or Consistency to max out.

Place of Origin is not required, but given that this is a region-centric league, if you don't provide one, chances are you'll be from somewhere in the northwest. If you're okay with that, I'm okay with that.

You can also add any biographical information such as height, weight, uniform number. If you like, you can come up with a story for why your player is coming to the Northwest League rather than playing in what's left of the majors, or I can come up with the story.

I'm giving this a bump since I'm going to be starting the 2010 season in a few days. There are a lot of player sign-up dynasties going on these days, but how many of them give you the opportunity to sign up as a prospect or a free agent (and make the big bucks right away, and skip that risky development nonsense!)?

I'd love to add your guys, Sarcastic... just one issue. I actually ran the free agent signing period on Friday, I just haven't had time to put up a report in the main thread. So I can do one of a few things:

1. Change Tindell's birthdate to make him a prospect (I haven't run the ammy draft yet)
2. Add Tindell as a late-addition free agent, have him signed to a one-year deal and test real free agency for the 2011 season
3. Wait until the 2011 season to add him to the league.

Devereux, as a prospect, will be added for the ammy draft this season.

The Heinz twins, John and Sam come from rural Montana. The boys don't know much, but they know baseball. If anyone saw them, they'd think anything but twins, as John is a hulk of a man, 6'5", 280 pounds of pure muscle. Little Sam is just 5'7", but is lightning quick from avoiding John during child-age fights. He knew he couldn't be stronger and tougher, but if John couldn't catch him he'd be ok. The boys grew closer as adolescence drew to an end, and are now inseparable. Both have dreams of playing ball, but coming from out in the sticks, know that the NW League is there best shot of doing it.

It has happened! There was a guy in the 1800's (Mullane, mayhaps?) and I think Dale Mohoric or one of the Greg Harris's did it as well in the late 1980's. The player in the 1980's had a special glove that was built for righties and lefties (i remember an SI pic of the glove--two thumb areas, very odd looking), since a glove switch in the middle of an AB is apparently illegal. He didn't do it often, but he did do it.
