Post Hall of Famer?

OK, I need help deciding on this one. I'm about to elect my inaugural Hall of Fame class (fictional league). And I can't decide if one pitcher should make it. He only played 6 years (he was 35 when the league started.) Here's his numbers.

122-28 .813 (worst season was his last 17-10, 20+ wins every other year)
3.91 ERA, 1506 K, 21 CG, 10 SO

He won the first two Golden Ace awards (25-3 2.01 ERA in 1900 and 22-4 2.71 ERA in 1901). He also had 4 no-hitters.

His ERA is a little high because he had a 2 rating for walks, and a 4 for homers to start with, and was listed as Very Inconsistent.

Oh and I have the league set to Modern Era.

What do you think? To Hall or not to Hall?

Guess I agree, he probably belongs, but boy 6 yrs is a pretty short career to be in the Hall.

6 years is a short time but if he started the sim at age 36 that means he pitched until he was what 41? and if he can dominate like that at that age he definately should be in the hall of fame.

Sounds like Sandy Kaufax -- six absolutely stunning years and then retirement. Put him in.

gotta echo the same sentiment here...I gave my Year I pioneers some leeway too, since many of them were already past their prime when my UBA got started...but this guy put up better numbers in his graybeard years than most guys do in their peak seasons...put him in the Hall

OK, i'm convinced he's in! Too bad he didn't have a full career, I might have had to name the award after him.

I wouldn't put him in.
Just kidding. Since everybody says he should be in, I thought I'll be different. :-)
But seriously, his career was on the short side, but boy did he put up numbers. Definitely a HOFer.
That brings up an interesting question that I have: Do you guys change the default numbers that come with the game for HOF criteria (3000 hits, 500 HR, etc.). I am undecided what to do on that issue. I am currently in 2029 and it seems like 500 HR and 3000 hits are a "normal" career for my players. I have currently 8 pages of players in the HOF. I think it is too many, but I am not sure what criteria to change. After seeing so many players get into the HOF, I decided to remove some players from it, but unfortunately the game entirely deletes a player when you remove him from the HOF. I wish the game would put him in the retires players list.
Would like to hear your opinion on HOF criteria.

Thanks.

It doesn't delete the players permanently when I do it. I inducted Honus Wagner manually then "unducted" him the next year and he is still found in the retired players list.

I would do one of two things... either induct him into the HoF, or name the Pitcher of the Year Award in his honor....

If I chose the latter option I'd hold of on inducting him into the Hall of Fame until I see how his winning percentage and ERA compare with others in the league's history.
