File Sizes with OOTP Question

As I simulate more and more seasons with OOTP how much file size do I need to allocate for the game and it's data? Is it a substantial ammount? And is there anything I can do or settings I can adjust to keep the file size lower?

I just have a kinda older computer and dont want it to slow down as I accumulate more and more seasonal data. Thanks for you help!

Since roughly the number of players retire as are added to the database each year most files don't change too much as the seasons progress...

EXCEPT

the almanac. That thing is a beast, especially if you save boxscores and gamelogs and takes up a ton of new space each season. It also consists of hundred of tiny files which bring hard drives to their knees. I use CATO (which has its own hard drive issues ), so I find the almanac most unneccessary and zip up each alamanac and store them separately just in case I ever need them for something.

Cool, thanks for the advice. Question, where do I find the Alminac and when would be the best time to zip them, remove them and archive them? Should I wait until the end of the season to do so?

There's a folder in your league directory that stores all of the almanacs. They are generated after each season, so you can zip them up and archive them at any time after that.

One last question, then I promise I'll enjoy the game and stop bugging people! How do I make sure I am not saving box scores or game logs as specified above? Thanks again.

for box scores:

goto League >>> Almanac >>> right hand side 'box scores' and to save more space make sure 'player reports' says 'no' too

for game logs:

goto simulate >>> sim options >>> 'generate game logs'
