Team password problem (online)

I sent each GM a password for their team. Now, some of them are telling me that they can make changes to their team and even export without once being asked for a password. What could be causing this? Also, it seems that (sometimes) opening a different league, then going back to open the online league solves the problem. Is there anything I can do to be sure owners get a "clean" league file that will prompt for a password every time?

Are the teams password protected? IOW, the GM's haven't changed that or already logged into the team then leave the team and go back it won't ask for the password again once it is entered for that session.

I had the same problem. If you password the teams but don't set a Commish password, it's like there's no password at all. A bug that I asked Steve about recently as well. I'd be interested in any answers on this.

The teams are password protected, but at no point are the GM's asked for that password, even after downloading the file.

There IS a commish password, and that seems to work properly.

Hey Phenom, The password works for me.

The password you set up worked fine, then I changed it and I still have to enter it whenever I go into the team setup screen to export.

I'll try again tonight if you want.

This is a wierd bug. Not everyone has it. I have the same problem where the teams are passworded but OOTP 6.11 doesn't prompt for passwords and lets anyone export any team too.

I've renamed the .lg file that was sent out, so we'll see if that fixes it, as it will force GMs to open a new league file after extracting.

jnshmoo ran some tests with some of the teams I was having trouble with and was prompted for a password with each of them, so hopefully the problem has been solved.

jnshmoo, would you mind checking my league file? I'd appreciate it!

It's on my website. www.baseball.montoyahome.com The one that says "No Password" League file in yellow. That one actually has team passwords but no commish password. I believe it doesn't prompt for passwords at all, even when going to the team setup page and exporting.

Thanks in advance, if you have the time.

Any thoughts on Fidel's problem that was posted here? This is the strangest bug, where when you have the commish password on, all teams have a high level of password protection, to the point where if I'm the GM of the Cubs, I can't even access another team's lineup, transaction or pitching rotation page without a password.

I tried playing around with a non-password file, and still got the same problem whenever I would create a commish password for the league. Is this something that perhaps could be fixed?

Any thoughts?

Got it!!

If you enable coaches and scouts, the game prompts for a password at almost every part of a team. Disable coaches and scouts, and you'll have full access except for the team setup page.

Took me longer than I expected to find where this was coming from. Well, there it is.
