OOTP Logo Contest Week 4 - Indianapolis Rounders
Here we are with the poll for another week. The Indianapolis Rounders concept seems to have stumped our designers this week. I only received 11 entries from 8 people.
Please note: We are only doing one round of voting this week. Vote for only ONE logo! Here are the logos (part 1):

Wonderful logos by all...can't decide now...they are just too close to pick one...it will take me a while.
Don't know if I can decide in just two days...being a critic is harder and more time-consuming than just "designing" them. Really well done. Last edited by Eugene Church; 02-09-2005 at 10:20 AM. |

Eugene, this was the hardest so far. I was working on something outside of Racing to go with it. I was going with poker players and just did not get my design done in time. I really enjoyed this week, I am glad you guys came up such wonderful and orginal concepts. Bravo Zulu.

I voted for #4. I like the combination of the treadmarks and the skyline, as well as the "O" in the team's name.

that was tough. I liked 5, 6, 7, 8, and 11.
#5 lost because I felt it shoudl have the city name #6 got knocked out because it jsut looked odd after a while the perfectly round stadium (very cool idea though) #7 lost because I coudlnt tell what the heck that red thing was and #8 lost because it reminded me too much of a trucking company out of QUebec, which is actually very cool ![]() so hence my choice

I love both #5 and #7. I can't decide between them right now, so I'll come back and vote later.

Shouldn't The Rounders have something to do with poker in their logo?

The following are just my opinions and are not meant to demean or detract from these fine designs, only to perhaps improve them:
#1 Good solid logo design...will show up well in OOTPB...although the black trim on the lettering might show spotty in game. #2 Fine traditional logo...especially like the "INDY" short for Indianapolis...this really sets it apart from the others...will show up great in the game...no graphics shortcomings technically. #3 Truly outstanding design...one of my favorites...fine colors...incorporates baseball and Indy 500 theme very well...really like the victory flag...and rounded lettering...I hope the black trim looks good in the game and does not get spotty. #4 Another outstanding design...tire treads very creative...really like the victory flag...wish Indianapolis was larger, so it will show up better in the game...really like the Rounders font and color...and if that "O" is a rounders base...that is a very nice touch. #5 Truly outstanding in all respects...this is a great traditional early 1900's type logo...it will show up superbly in the game...wish he had tied in Indy 500 theme with the diamonds...it would have been perfect then. #6 Very good concept...like the "speed" aspect of the font...developed the Rounders theme with the oval stadium ( a sense of "round and round")...a victory flag in the middle of the stadium would be a nice addition...hope black does not spot in the game. #7 Technically very well done...fine colors and font for Rounders...wish Indianapolis was larger so it will show up well on the game screens and I'm not sure what the fancy design is below ROUNDERS...Is that a bat in it or a peg used in the game of rounders? #8 Another very fine traditonal design...excellent font size...really like the way he made the "R" include the "I" as well...very nice touch...really like the lane stripes to create the "I"...should show up very well in game if black doesn't get spotty. #9 Flawless in my opinion...visually excellent...very fine colors...large lettering...ties in Indy 500 with the gray oval track and victory wings with the baseball seams and the diamond...it will show up very well in the game...this is perfect...this one gets my vote. #10 Very well done...excellent font...fine colors...ties in Indy 500 and Baseball very well...wish Indianapolis was larger, so it would show up better in the game. #11 Another flawless one...equal to #9 in all respects...#11 is beautifully done...has baseball and Indy 500 theme...is a perfectly balanced and laid out logo...I chose #9 because I like bright colors...the red makes it superior imo... #11 a very, very close second...#3, #4, #5, and #8 are very close, too. But all of the others are well done, too. We are really lucky to have so many fine designers who share their great talent with us. Last edited by Eugene Church; 02-11-2005 at 12:43 PM. |

I tend to like the logos that are more round. (Sorry for the "rounders" pun). Anyway, I like the design of #11 so that was my pick.

My take on Logo 7 is that the design is a stretched out racing helmet to make the racing connection.

Every single one of these logos would be a fine addition to a league, but my vote goes to number three. Clean as a whistle design on that one. Great job!
