Two 30 Game Winners on Same Team!!!

The MLBC just wrapped up the 1942 regular season and for the first time in its 38 seasons of play there are two 30 game winners on the same team. chef Jimi Patricola's New York Yankees pulled off this remarkable feat as Mort Cooper's 31 and Italo Chelini's 30 wins led the Yanks to the AL pennant. Here are the Yanks pitching stats:

I'm guessing some of those pitchers were acquired in trades, or thru FA?

Its a historical league with no free agency, most were drafted but there was some healthy talent bumps for guys like Chelini and Bauers. I believe French and Blanton were acquired at the trade deadline but the others began the season with the Yanks. Luck can play a big part in OOTP.

mostly I was talking about the fact that their wins add up to more than the standings indicate.

Yep I was faltering and Detroit was closing in (actually had taken over first ...briefly) so i acquired French and Blanton for my #2 next year to shore up my bully. And it seemed to work. Offense built around DiMaggio and Doerr, plus some strong vets. Incidentally DiMaggio and VanDer Meer were acquired for #1 pick some years ago (turned out to be Teddy 'can't play in pressure' Wiliams. So the series was NYY v. NYG - ah i swept...got lucky.
MLBC has got tobe one of the best run easy moving leagues around..thanks B !

Thanks for the props chef, I believe the MLBC is sucessful mainly because the owner base has become very mature and homogenized. It seems we all share the same easy going, respectful manner. There aren't any troublemakers or cutthroat traders or trashtalkers. Not that there is anything wrong with aggressive owners but sometimes the different styles don't mesh well. The MLBC owners just seem to mesh very well. Sure there have been some brief periods of turmoil throughout the long history of the MLBC but there has always been a very strong grounded core of ownership that has allowed the league to overcome those problems and not break stride. I honestly consider myself fortunate that the league has become so easy to run thanks to all of our owners.
