Game Freezes

Hi Guys,

I hope this hasn't been answered elsewhere on the boards. I had to re-format and when I re-installed OOTPand downloaded a new full file it won't work for me. I can get to the standings screen of my league and then when I try to click on my team it freezes and I have to close it down.
Any suggestions?

It doesn't sound like you have the league properly installed.

It looks as if there are 4 patches. Should I re-install the game and then apply each patch 1 at a time or will applying the last patch be OK?

I have a sim problem this is a very important league file too me too. I don't know when i last backed this up. It won't sim one game on 7-24-05. I'm going to see when I backed this up last.

More than likely one of the following is the problem:

-The same position is listed twice in the lineup.
-The same player is listed twice in the lineup.
-One position is missing.
-An "injured" pitcher is scheduled to start a game.

Hi Steve,

Ok I did a search on my computer on OOTP and all the old league names. I then deleted everything I found.
Next I downloaded and installed the game. I then checked to make sure it worked OK. Then I downloaded and installed the latest patch. I again checked to make sure it still worked fine.
The league that is with the game, (2003), works fine.
I then downloaded and installed the full league file. The 2003 league still works fine, but the league I just installed still locks up at the "Standings" screen.
Some other guys in the league downloaded and installed the full file with no problem.
Is there something I am missing here?

Well the "league file" needs to be installed properly, NOT inside of another folder or what have you INSIDE of the OOTP folder. Check that.

League file was unzipped to:

C:\ProgramFiles\OutoftheParkDevelopments\OOTP6

Isn't this correct?

Suggestions anyone?

I did just install new virus protection. Could that be effecting it? I also have Spybot installed. And Adaware6.0.

I am getting desperate.

Is there some kind of setting that i need to turn on or off?

OK Guys, I believe, I have figured this out. I'll share with you guys in case any of you run across this.

I installed a new virus protection program called eTrust EZ Antivirus. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. When I turn this off, the league works fine. As soon as I turn it back on , the league locks up every time.

I got cheap and figured I would save a few bucks. This was about half the price of Norton Virus Protection. Looks like I got what I paid for.
