Using Lahman DB
I DL'ed the new Lahman Database, through 2004. I want to use that with OOTP 6, for a new league I'm setting up (not online or anything). How the hell do I turn all the .csv files that come with the database, into the files I need for the game?
Also, are there any other databases available that are better? I'm not really looking for so much historical, but any with more current minor league numbers would be good. I don't think Lahman has those. A little how to help here would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks! Andy |

If you want current rosters with minor leagues you probably want a roster set put together by someone rather than a database. The Halofan roster set is a popular one. It and others (or links to them or links to places with them) can be found in the Mods forum, though it may take a bit of searching. Anyway you basically just download the files and put them into your OOTP6 folder. I think there's an all-in-one installer eriqjaffe put together that has current rosters, graphics, etc., though I'm not sure exactly how it works. Someone else may be able to give you more specific help. I may not be too useful on this since I pretty much only play fictional.
There are other databases designed to do slightly different things. Ankit's is one well-known one. To use the databases you choose the Create Historical League option. The game will pull the info needed to make the league from those csv files for whatever year you specify. |
