I'll go with Falons/Pats then.

Get your bet in before it hits 3. I like the Pats in this one.

That is what I predicted at the beginning of the playoffs.

Granted, Hampton still won't be back, but his replacement Hoke (who hadn't started a game before Hampton got injured) is playing a better game now than when the Steelers played the Pats. There's an outside chance that Bell may be available to play this weekend, but even if he doesn't the Steelers will stop Dillon. It seemed to me that Kevin Faulk ran the ball well against the Colts yesterday, but against the Steelers, he couldn't get anywhere. I guess my point is, the reason the Patriots couldn't run the ball against the Steelers wasn't because Dillon was injured, it was because the Steelers have the #1 run defense in the league.
Or maybe it was the fact that the Patriots only ran the ball 6 times? Without Dillon their gameplan changed, and it was one of those rare games where the Patriots didn't prepare as well as they should have. I can't wait to see Big Ben's face when the Patriots come out with 100 different defensive schemes.

That isn't what the Patriots do. Manning even said that they pretty much do the same thing every play (at least in the secondary). The difference between New England and most defenses is that they are so well prepared and disciplined that they tend to know where the offensive guys are going and don't get fooled.

Dola,

The Pats D is about containment. If you notice, they rarely make plays behind the line of scrimmage and they rarely give up plays of more than 5 or 6 yards.

Me too... just check my pre-playoff comments in the appropriate thread. You generally can't go wrong picking the home team in these things.... also, but for a couple of fluky mistakes, the score of the Steelers/Jets game would have been about the same as the Patriots/Colts. I think this will be a great game, and I agree that the winner will beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl (sorry, Atlanta), but in the end I like the Steelers.

It was a shame that the only close game from this last weekend was the Steelers-Jets game.

Pats are favored on the road against a #1 seed. Really quite a rarity. Anyone know when the last time this happened? I do not have the answer.

As for the game coming up, everything comes down to what the Steelers offense is going to be able to do. The Jets could only muster 3 points against the Steelers defense, and I expect much the same against the Patriots. The only reason the game was close against the Jets was because of turnovers. The interception returned for a touchdown, and then the Bettis fumble while the Steelers were driving the ball. I think the game will likely come down to whichever team turns the ball over less, and ultimately, i think what the weather will be like. So far in every game this season where Roethlisberger has worn those stupid gloves, he's had a poor game. I for one am praying for a clear night and 50 degree temps, though I doubt that's gonna happen.
Well, as a previous poster mentioned, the Pats only ran the ball 6 times. Without Corey Dillon and starting FB Patrick Pass, not to mention two of their top 3 WR's, the Pats gameplan that day was blown from the get go. Now that all of the offensive players are healthy (or healthy enough), it will be a much more interesting (and different) situation. That's not whining. That's reality.

And to add even more, they turned it over five times. The chances of that happening again are none to none.

I also going with the Pats, thought I don't know why everyone is thinking blowout. The pats don't blowout teams too often they often play and beat the team defensivly. I mean their last two superbowls the Pats won by a grand total of 6 points.

Even the Colt game was closer then the score suggests. If the wide recievers could of kept the ball they were thrown it could of been an actually game on Sunday.

I believe its going to be something like 17-14. I don't know who will win other than saying, whoever turnovers the ball. If Rothlenburger plays as good as he did last week NE wins. If Brady makes a bad decision (he does that at times, remember Miami anone) Pittsburgh will win.

Hey hey hey.. I said 24-13 Patriots. That's not a blowout!

Interesting that you mentioned they play defensive games, yet thought the pressure lays on the QB's to play well. I think they can both have bad games, but not because they play poorly.. just because both defenses are THAT good. I'd be more inclined to think that the winner will be the one who makes a big defensive mistake. Trips and falls on coverage, a big penalty somewhere, etc.

Gotta root for the Steelers here. New England has had enough to celebrate already
