Bad News Now
Ok heres the deal for those who have been sticking with me.....6.0 it wont let me go past html pages for washington at the fielding stats....6.11 it gives me a type mismatch error at the pitchers cvs file....6.12, 6.13, and 6.14 give me the type mismatch at the ltrans.html file even after i update the =r to =p....so unless someone knows why of all this, then i give up and thank all you guys for your help...6.0 is the only one that has actually worked for me up until that html error....so im clueless

Have you considered keeping your whole scenario in one thread instead of 5?

Yeah, but it's somewhat difficult to get someone to help you if follow normal procedures. By starting many new threads you a) piss people off b) make people have to check more than one thread if the do help you
Just a friendly FYI!!!!!!!!!!!@#@$#%465hyhgh1 |

Sorry about your luck Aces. I'd like to help you out but unfortunately I've never been able to get Catobase to work myself. It's been awhile since I've tried again but just haven't had the time to give it another go. Hope you get it sorted out right.

Check ID and Fldg Stats....
I have never had a problem with CATOBASE that I could not figure out, but I am a programmer so I guess it is somewhat second nature to me. Check out the fileding stats for Washington. Make sure that there is not a record with a 0 for inning played and errors attributed to it. Also check to see if the player you changed the id to played for WASH. If he did, you made an error with the id. Remeber you can not just change a R# to a P# and get it to work properly. The numbers are different. P# are randomly assigned, the R# is a player retired number and is sequencially assigned.

The other avenue to explore - and I know it's a huge pain in the %ss -- but what with starting with one version and another, struggling with corrections, etc... it may be an exercise in more frustration, but consider dumping everything related to Cato. Start over with just 6.1.4 and follow the readme.html included with it. In essence, commit to that version, start from scratch, tackle the probs as the occur. Maybe there won't be as many, maybe more.... I really hope you get over the hill, you're really almost there. Maybe I just got lucky. But it did take several clean tries and many questions.

The other two suggestions have already been made, but may need to be looked at again with more scrutiny: examine every single stat in that Washington area or start with a clean slate - latest version - follow the readme closely.

Well what i think im going to do cause this seemed to work, i think im just giong to use the lahman database to import a year and just do that....i successfully imported the year of 1902 with no problems....so im going to try to import 2004 and see if it gives me any crap....also does anyone have the file for the record books in the almanac so i dont have to edit it my self....if not, what do you have to name it so it will show up inside the league_News_Box folder....i see that halofan has the record book uptodate inside his roster set but i cant find the file so i can copy and paste it into a different league folder....thanks guys
