Logo Request

Hello to all the artists.

I have a humble request for a logo for the new South Seas League. My team is called Vanuatu...a group of islands in the Pacific, and the name would be Vanuatu Lava.

Thanks a lot!

I decided to try something with an "island" feel, keeping the larger lava and baseball themes in mind...
The big slugger helps evoke the strong eruption scene from the volcano.

Too bad none of us could out-do Dagrims. His looks almost professional

LL, I really like that logo....very cool.

I wonder, did you try doing it without the text and enlarging the graphic to show the detail? It might be an option to try. It certainly would show off your design better....

Good job, though....

Thanks.
I did the whole logo in a 200x200 size and then shrunk it as a whole.

Thanks, inspiration comes and goes I skip a lot of requests because I don't feel I have anything to add that others can do or have done or (like the recent requests for Strom Thurmonds and o0xsts) I just don't have a good idea what to do.

Thanks a lot to all of you!

They're all very good, and it's hard to decide, but I think I'll go with FastLane's because I really like the symbol which the un-lava'd part of the ball makes...kind of like a flame. It could be a tribal symbol ingeneously snuck into the logo.

The only thing is, you spelled the name of the islands wrong...it's Vanuatu not Vanuata.

Its fixed and reposted above.

Sorry about that.

But, I'm glad you liked it enough to want to use it.

Cheers!

that is my choice too. i like the wavy lettering because it flows with the dancing of the flames. excellent work!

I would be happy with all of them. It really is nice to get three versions of a logo from three of our finest designers.

treedom, you are very lucky.

Indeed. I liked Cooley's for its Lord of the Rings/fantasy feel - if there was a whole set like that I would start a LotR solo league just to use them. LL's was one I would've picked in most cases, but was looking for something less modern and more "tribal" because of the flava of this league. As for Dagrims, well, it's just too commercial, and that's not the direction I see my Lava going into. Sell outs they are not!

Thanks again all of you.

Obviously not going the Steinbrenner route.
