Unfortunately a long strike only hurts the minimum salary types. If the prima donnas have any money management skills at all, they'll never have to work again. Strikes are usually only effective if both sides have a lot to lose from one. You're not going to see any of these guys at the food bank.

Yes and no...

I want the owners to stay strong and force the players closer to their demands, but at the same time I don't want to go a year or more without baseball.

If there is a strike, something significant better get accomplished because of it. I can accept a strike if we get a good long-term deal afterwards.
